I would like to see some new planets or bigger astroids in the game. But Moons ?

Moons are by definition natural satelites.

So why i need to jump to them via phasejump, as they need to be inside the gravitywell of their plantes.

Or: where are the planetets  from the moons gone ?

Its just a decision that i dont like.

I would like other ideas, like cracked/destroyed/bursted planets (dont know a nice translation vor "geborstene Planeten" ) That would fit the story line: After centuries of war planets bursted from the repeating bombardements of war....

I would like to see a contest for modders to build some new ideas/graphics that will be implented in the game after a community poll.

So modder who wins will get a nice creditsentry and 2 free copies of the game

Originally, I envisioned moons to be like the metal/crystal asteroids.  They were attached to planet and once you colonize the planet, you could build on them a moon base, that would provide a stead income of credits.

I agree with the above comment. Certain Planets should have a moon in orbit which provides a slight bonus! But in this case you would have top choose. You can build a base on the moon and choose weather it serves economical, cultural, and or military purpose. One the economical side it could have a base that holds a certain populatuion and grants tax income from populaition or bascially a moon trade base instead of having to build a trade port somewhere else orbiting the planet. It could host a larger broadcast array or a be like the ellis island of the planet and increase your culture spread or prevent enemy culture from spreading in your system, militarily it would serve defensive purposes possibly hosting a moon base which is weaker than a starbase but still provides a  boost to defense or an upgraded shield generator (The one on endor in starwars) this generator could be more powerful than a space born one. what do you think of these ideas?

"That's no Moon..."

I guess I can see the logic behind moons following planets, even fragmented planets, yet I don't really get the idea of a moon orbiting a star.
A. Wouldn't that make it a planet, not a moon?
B. If it is not big enough to be a planet, wouldn't a closer-orbiting planet pull it out of orbit anyway?

Just my two cents, though I do agree; seeing new planet types, like fragmented planets, would be nice... Actually, just to throw another spanner in the anti-matter engine, how would you populate a fragmented planet? If it's in pieces, where do you colonise?
