Sins is a game with a fairly long learning curve, and while two new tutorials will certainly help new players, its really a game you have to spend some time with on your own pace. Before this wasn't a problem as in Trinity you could play any map without any AI players if you wished, but in Rebellion for some reason that feature was removed.

To get around this, I've made a modified small map where all phase lanes to the AI's homeworld have been removed, preventing it from interacting with the rest of the game in any way. It is intended for players who have just finished the tutorials as a sort of sandbox tutorial, where they are free to expand and experiment at their own pace. Player can still get some combat experience if they leave on the pirates (and don't research Truce Amongst Rogues as TEC Rebels), and can even win the game via occupation or research victory if they so desire.

The second version is much larger, features militia from all races, and plenty of fortified planets for you to practice combat on. Can you get the secret victory after fighting through all six titans at once?

T.A.R is rebels, and that's a good idea. Does the AI auto defeat when they keep building ships / increasing supply?

Thanks, I don't know why I'm getting the two confused when I always play Rebels.

The AI will probably keep building ships and stuff, but they'll never be able to send them anywhere. At most they'll just take up a tiny amount of processing and RAM, but the map is small enough to be negligible (might want to leave the AI on easy to mitigate this as much as possible). Its impossible for them to leave their gravity well, and they don't have enough logistics space to get enough labs for the research victory even if they had the money to get that far, so it really should be as if the AI doesn't exist.

Would it not be possible to have their homeworld be a Dead Asteroid so they quite literally have nothing?

Sure, but I didn't bother because it's probably overkill. I don't see how it can possible be a problem honestly.

Map has been upgraded for 0.76 beta. Its now much larger, and should explore the player to pretty much everything if they explore everything, including all six titans.

Is it just me or is the link redirecting to map list, and not a specific map? Which map is it?

Quoting ShotmanMaslo,

Well when I click it I get a screen with a title of "Rebellion Free Tutorial and Exploration Map". There should be a green download button below the text descriptions.

I did just update it today so perhaps it was changing something right when you happened to click on it?

from my searching of the wincustomise the latest map is dated 29th may 2012, so they must not have authorised it yet.

Does not work. You should upload it somewhere else.

even following the direct link does not work for me either, so it does boil down to sd/wincustomise having not authorised the map yet.

I'm sad to say it still doesn't work. I have the map in the Galaxy Forge folder, as specified in the readme file but I can't see it in game.

lightpl, you DID extract the galaxy from the zip, right?

I have done a quick read of the map and it appears to be a valid rebellion map with no obvious problems, and also a readme and a picture included with it

Yes, otherwise I wouldn't be able to access the readme file, would I?

I found the problem though. The readme states that the file should be placed inside a "Galaxy Forge" folder (note the space). Since I didn't have it, I just created it manually. This is why it didn't work, the file had to be put into a folder called "GalaxyForge"
