Agreed! I am super happy to have the G19 KB now. With this game and Guild Wars 2, I finally feel like the keyboard was worth the purchase!
I hope they are planning on expanding the display further. It would be awesome if they had the background image set as the item selected (could use the same still image that shows in game when you select something) and has the name, ship type, and other info about said selected item. That would work well for a quick tab romp through the fleet to quickly see the level of a particular cap ship or the research rate of a particular planet.
What would be incredibly useful would be to have the research status displayed, where it would show what items under which tree were currently being researched (and display none for sub menus that have nothing so you can quickly know which field you need to setup a new queue of items for).
