corvettes and you should to. The Anti-Corvettes club.

 

Buff Flak speed or reduce corvette speed or both. The only hardcounter to them cannot catch them. And they can just run and reek havoc in your territories uncontested. Do not nerf corvette damage, the corvettes damage is fine, but there is no way to kill them early on unless you have more corvettes and in mass nothing else can kills them but corvettes and flak. Even a starbase with upgrades gets taken down which is sad :/

 

p.s; Give starbases flak to.

I agree that Starbases need to be upgraded with anti-strike craft weaponry. Still not sure what would be the best way to make the Corvettes less overpowered...

When playing the TEC Rebels, I use Pirate Reapers against those annoying Corvettes. Because of their longer range, they are much more effective at taking them down than the conventional flak frigates.

Starbases upgrade, yeah i agree it's a need now if you play in Multi or at least player's need to be able to do something against the corvettes spam.

But for me sins have always been single player game only. When i tryed to play online i just lost my time (HOURS....) because of the unfixed desync bug. So... In single player i don't have noticed a "real" problem about corvette cause the AI are not crazy like some real player's who just want to end the game in some minutes...

You could say after holding off a dual marza rush to my homeworld by building a starbase because I estimated it would come because of my position, I am very angry about corvettes. Its not like the movement speed buff will change much of anything. And if you lose to flak its because you let them macro enough, its different with corvettes. There is virtually no counterplay to it.

Ya its pretty sad when my fleet of 60 disciples is having even losses against a fleet of 60 defense vessels (my corvette cloud was elsewhere).  Disciples don't do much vs flak...honestly they need to kill these buggers a little faster.  Not much, but anything to increase how hard the counter is...

I can see this game getting harder counters then it used to have with all these new game additions.

Corvettes should be bigger targets than fighters and fairly easy therefore to kill. 

What we need is to have a "heavy flack frigate" to include with our fleets.

Then we need a number of "different" corvette models. A heavy fighter of some sort to take em down.

Or just have one capital ship of the bunch be a good anti massed corvette ship. Here is looking at you Kol + Radiance + kortul.

Kortul, probably the best vasari opener once they are playable in beta.

You can get into the mesh with notepad and select all of one weapon and rename it to weapon-3, then in the entity file just add either flak or point defense.

This could be interesting.  That said on the advent side of things, Discord would require less changes to become a corvette counter then radiance(Give Psionic Scream a frontal firing arc rather then having to be directly pointed at the target and it'd be able to fill that role),  By contrast Radiance would need whole new mechanics added to it's kit.  Just adding flak attacks to the battleships likely wouldn't cut it since capital ships do 25% damage to the corvette's armor type.

 

The AA abilities on both kortul and Kol could easily be adapted to counter corvettes.  Kol would still need to have it's debilitating AM consumption issues sorted out though.

Well LF's have been in need of a buff for awhile, their only role is to have early game capping(against terran/desert planets) and stealing/harming antimatter in some way. They should be standard but got outshines for the longest time by LRF's now with corvettes I think with some tweaking we can have a lot more options early game. Like I said nerf corvette speed/buff flak speed by a little bit. And then we can buff LF's in some way, more then likely they just need a damage boost against heavy units.

I appreciate the advice but I am no modder and I never run mods on any of my games. Just doesn't feel official

You can give different weapons on ships different damage types, so yes, you can give a capital ship ANTIVERYLIGHT or ANTILIGHT weapons.  A few mods have done this to give capitals flak weapons.
