Before v0.78/0.79, you were able to enable mods....however, the first game you'd try to start with that mod would always result in a crash (even if the mod was enabled and then Sins was restarted)....

The situation is now even worse...attempting to enable a mod instantly results in a crash...

The converse is also true: attempting to disable the mod instantly results in a crash....

Yeah. Something has always been a bit funky with the mod loading, but now its completely broken. Sometime before release this needs to be fixed.

Maybe check to see if the mods are compatible with .79?

This is pretty much a requirement I would think?

Enabling a blank mod (no files, just blank folder) still results in a crash...

Have you tried editing the 'enabled mods' text file to manually enable it? Does that work?

Replacing the game files with the ones you modded works. But that's really not something you should be willing to do. I made backups of all the original files so I can still restore the game to it's original state. It's not pretty, but it's a workaround...

But we don't want to change the core files, we want the mod system to work properly.

there was a thread about this earlier.

I think the devs are aware of the issue.

This is the only way I've been able to get any mod to work....

Yeah...I started that thread...no dev response....

In fact, the problem has only gotten worse, as at least in previous versions you could enable in game (it just would crash on the first game, and you'd have to restart sins)...
