I would love to add my own badges similar to homeworld but thats a no go apparently?
If you open up the UI texture file you could totally edit a badge to be one of your choosing.
But will that work for online play?
Nope, You'll be able to see your badge, but the opposing player wont.
no it will not, but renaming planets and ships does.
Found it, go into the texture folder of your rebellion directory and open "RaceLogos.TGA" in any good editing program like GIMP or photoshop. It's much easier in GIMP.

I rename ships and planets all the time. ITs a blast when playing with friends.
I agree , I was only referring to the modding of the files when saying it would not help.
