SoaSE has always been lagging, overflowing etc.
It is only able to use 2GB of RAM, and only 1 whole core.
Game still lags, though, even if you got an CPU close to 5GHz...
But you know, the developers does not want to make it multithreaded, because it would take them too long! Instead, they keep adding new stuff to the old engine, breaking it even more!
Here's an idea, instead of raping the old engine and use years to produce rebellion (Which ironically makes the game even more laggy and unplayable), what about, I don't know, make a new engine?
And with that mentioned, you can play soase with more than 1 core and 2GB RAM. Set up some servers, and virtualise the game across the servers, Tada! No more lag on the highest settings with thousand of ships zooming around.
