after eradicating some AI players and the pirates as well - I noticed the last surviving AI still kept wasting money by setting bounty (at end of game I had over 20k bounty on my head (starting out from zero!) while there was no other player still alive AND no active pirate faction anymore.

while I doubt that money could have made me loose that game if put to other uses, it makes the AI look needlessly stupid ...

Interesting...   That shouldn't happen.  If you want that to stop i would suggest saving the game then loading the save.  That sometimes works out bugs like that.

I do see this as well. However, I think this might be working as intended. The AI may be enticing other players / AI to attack you specifically. When it's a 1v1 I do see it as more of a bug when it isn't from karmic retribution (Advent trade ship tech).

There is nothing unusual about this it always happens, I think it has just been ignored up until now.

I agree with Scudhawk, except in the case of 1v1 against Vasari since they can get their bounty + interest with a little research.

Pretty much since bounty can still be used, if someone placed bounty on another player and you went after that player you'll gain from it.

1) There is a racial research, that means every time you lose a ship/structure, bounty gets put on the attacker.

2) If it isn't that, then it is probably the AI trying to coax other AI/players into attacking you.

3) If it is only you and the AI left, it is probably the AI abusing another racial research which boosts the amount of bounty they put on you, but still only costing the original price. Then killing your ships to claim the bounty back, and thus creating an income.

4) Otherwise, I have no idea

1) the AI has no tech for their racial bounty(i use them alot) also have not attacked them yet

2)1V1.....

3)No pirates active or even on map---its custom

4)AI hates me
