Spotted some AI issues during a game that exist in the latest build 25/05/12.

1) There were some mines in some grav wells and when the AI attacked the well he left his fleet in them wells for ages and didn't send scouts.  He didn't send a colony ship in to cap for ages but did a planet inbetween.  It was as if it counted the mines as enemy fleet or structures and left it's fleets there to deal with it but as it didn't include scouts it never got rid of the mines.  This rendered this AI pretty much useless as it left it's best ships and it's Titan there.

2) The AI didn't prioritise getting it's Titan out enough.  Some AIs were ok, others waited for aaaaaaages, and then once building the Titan foundry they didn't build the Titan for a long time after.

3) The AI still suicides itself against Star bases.  It should not be hard to retreat from a stationary enemy when it realises it isn't going to win!

4) The AI doesn't attempt to retreat individual ships that are getting low.  It's either all or nothing in retreat.  It would be a good idea to consider retreating low hp caps (<20% ?) from battle and to work out whether to retreat the remaining ships based on the same calculations it uses now.

5) Both Vasari opponents in a long game didn't seem to ever create phase gates.

Not sure if something like this already exists but would be a good idea if others contribute.

Another big issue, the AI will gladly throw waves of frigates and cruisers into range of a VR Titan's Nano-leech, making it basically invulnerable - if the AI is supposed to threaten Vasari rebels at all, this needs fixed.

Ok my issue is that the Ai seems to eager to kill me on easy. Like in 28 mins it attacked me with Two Kol's and 20-25 frigates. To me thats a bit too fast, given I take my time getting my fleet ready but still it was on defensive and came on real strong. Anyone feel the same??

Are you expanding from the beginning and developing your new planets so you don't lose money?  Are you scouting to see what they're building and when?

i also noticed that the AI isn't taking advantage of the some of the new features like twin fortress or mobile star-bases to name a few.

Please understand the AI is purposefully lobotomized so you'll get so sick of it you break down and play vs humans.

Do not ask for smarter AI, you will get told to play MP: Sins of a Smurf Village

Fixing the starbase suiciding at least would be nice.  Is it really so hard to force the AI to bring proper counters instead of throwing masses of random frigates at it?  TEC AI is kind of okay for this, but Visari is just lost.  The 'weighting' of starbases and titans need to be bumped up significantly for the AIs calculations I think.

I hate hate hate fighting against the AI when it sends a capital ship retreating and then immediately jumps it back, then retreats, then jumps it back, then retreats, and over and over and over again! I HATE THIS. I want a console command to manually kill the ship immediately. If I play a game like Counter Strike and I see 2 bots remaining with each on opposite sides of a map traveling in opposite directions thus creating a circle I will console kill them both. I want to console kill these ridiculous capital ships that jump in and out over and over again.

It's one thing to retreat a capital ship and then park it at a repair facility. I do that myself. The AI does the back-and-forth jumping only allowing a little bit of repair. I was playing a game last week where this caused a huge issue because my titan was unable to leave a gravity well because the enemy capital ship would jump in, get in its way, force it to turn, jump out, and then repeat the process over and over again until the titan was destroyed.

Grrrrr....
