To everybody who claims that comp stomps are for losers.

Just a little tidbit of information I am currently qouting.

"The only reason there is multiplayer at all actually is because a few us at Ironclad wanted to be able to fight each other and run comp-stomps. At the time, we predicted the return on investment for multiplayer would be small (and it was as only a very small fraction of Solar Empire players play multiplayer) but we did it anyway, because it was fun for us."

No....it took me only 1 ICO game to accept losses and not throw a six year old hissy fit tantrum...

I am much more mature now...I just go cry silently in my bed...

Does it qualify as a comp stomp if the only other human is yourself, toggling with the dev.exe?

According to DirtySanchezz, this would most likely be a new kind of low.

eeeh. Your all very descent multiplayers. Whats sparked the hate for comp stomps? I mean if your trying to convince others to come play with you through hate posts and hate mail then that won't work.

Comp-stomps allow people to rank up there experience or skill level in strategic executions but their micro can only be improved vs human players. Its still fun to play as you get comfortable with the game and enjoy watching replays to learn new skills and see if you can defeat an ai before your human ally. I use to do this alot with my chinese roomate back in london when playing supreme commander forged alliance.

You can't just dive into ico or should i say steam empty handed with no experience, build 50 turrets around your planet thinking your defending your self only to realize there no planets left to colonize and your all alone in the galaxy.

This is the reason why humans suck so badly because we can't even establish our first colony on moon because we are busy fighting amongst each other on earth. We need to imagine theres an AI race of robotics invading galaxies and colonizing planets--that way the fear or "time of war" scenario kicks in and everybody realizes the real threat is not the russians, arabs, chinese, americans, africans, koreans, idians and the australians. My point being comp stomping builds skills its own way and emphasizes the importance of space exploration and expanding your empire as quickly as possible.

I'm pretty sure one gamer calling another a loser is the least important interaction in the entire world.  Wouldn't worry about it.  I haven't played multiplayer, for a couple reasons. The game is fun enough on its own, and none of my online buddies seem to be interested in this title.

The last few RTSes I played online were depressing, usually boiling down to some tween abandoning the game's intent in one way or another.  Nobody would watch NASCAR if one of those drivers had sabotaged all the other cars and prevented them from shifting past 3rd gear.  But that characterizes most of what I've seen in online RTS titles.

Other online game types can be fun, but I've seen the most exploitation / obnoxious gimmicks in RTS ones.  If people want to call someone a loser, they really need to come up with better material than this.
