Well it is about time Stardock forums had its own topic about this upcoming game (it should come out by end of July) that got me excited as soon as I found out about it 3 months ago. It is done by a small indie developer from Croatia.

If I had to describe this game in few words, I would say this is Morrowind meets Diablo + its own unique elements.

What are main features of this upcoming game:

- Open, large and rich fantasy game world: meaning a sandbox with no loading screens and no level scaling (like Morrowind)

- Free character development: meaning no classes but you get access to both martial and magic skills and decide on your own how to level your character and find good combinations

-  Powerful spell creation system gives unlimited possibilities and easy use, if you have magic runes. Just drag them to the slots in the spell panel. Name them, give a representing icon and level (faith consumption). Click create and your magic icon will appear in the inventory. Then drag a spell into one of the slots.

- Unlocking System with Runes: using specific runes players can interactively unlock and activate locked chests or crates and other mechanisms in the game. You will find and collect these runes as you adventure. This is not just another minigame that is awesome at first but becomes a chore later. With limited number of runes at any time, you will need to choose where to open first.

- Adaptable creature AI: depending whether it is day or night, creatures spawn and act differently. Weather conditions also influence a monster's behavior

A new trailer just came out yesterday (NOTE: Unfortunately this video was made inhouse on a 4 year old computer so it does not showcase what this engine can really do. They said future trailers will be done better):

I'm worried about polish and production values of a game made by a company which can't even film a proper trailer.

At a glance, it seems like awfully big project for a small studio, which could bring many issues. The graphics look like Sacred 2 or Titan Quest on minimum detail (I would not expect too much even considering they had to lower graphical detail for the video). Also, the graphical style seems to be rather inconsistent.

And I couldn't find anything about this game having multiplayer or not (essential thing for ARPG).

This may turn out great, but my hopes are high for Torchlight 2, Path of Exile and Grim Dawn instead.

What I like a lot is the inspiration from the old Slavic culture (eg. the deities present in the game are actual Slavic gods) - that's something you don't see very often in western culture Even in Central and Eastern Europe, the classical Tolkienesque fantasy dominates (though admittesdly Legends of Dawn seems to hybridize SLavic culture with regular western fantasy - you can see the races are elves, dwarves etc...)

I think this game is closer to Morrowind/skyrim then diablo or PoE or Grim Dawn. It is not a pure aRPG, it is more an adventure RPG with lots of combat.

Well for whatever reason they don't understand the importance of good trailer

I talked to them on their forums about this and for whatever reason they though it is OK to make a trailer that is not on max details.

But to me game features are more important then graphics so I am looking forward to it. Free roaming, lots of quests and and crafting my own spells sounds fun. Also looks like the game will have factions, which is what both Morrowind and Skyrim missed for whatever reason.

quite interesting video, some indie companies have a lot of potential, and I agree game features are more important than graphics, even in demo videos

Skyrim certainly has factions.

Not really. Only in name.

I been talking to devs a bit more and they stated that they prefer fun and innovative game features over flashy graphics. They are working on having nice graphics but they are not on the top of the list. But for an indie game I cannot complain about graphics. D3 has nice graphics with cool animations but almost everything else is pretty bad.

Well 2 more months and we will find out. They also plan to put our more trailers and info about the game before release.
