Cannot Start Game

Okay I bought and downloaded sins of the solar empire expansion rebellion yesterday on steam.  Today as I started the game it continually intializies gives me the "preparing to launch sins of s solar empire rebellion" message box which then that disappears after a few seconds.  However the game does not start afterwards.  Nothing not even a black screen, a launcher or a loading screen is seen.  I ran a cache integrity check and everything is fine.   I tried an uninstall and reinstall but that did not work.  Any suggestions ideas or help will be appreciated

So I often have issues with steam....  Steam crashes 75% of the time.  I am going to uninstall and reinstall it but I just want to play my game.  I don't like steam.

Damn .. I have had the same problem ever since I bought it a while ago. Played different stuff and hoped it would be fixed. :x .. just tried the same thing again. Funnily enough steam lists me as having played the game for 89 minutes in total.

Edit: I do not have Rebellion, just the Trinity expansion. Same thing though :x

Did any of you purchase the discounted upgrade version or the full download?  When I went to checkout on Stardock it gave me the option to get $10 off if I was a registered owner of the previous game versions.  Wondering if theres a problem with that version or if the previous versions need to be present in order to work.

The problem is more than likely NVidia driver related.  Here is the content of the mini dump file I receive.

Ill try updating drivers and see if that corrects the problem.

Hi, I had a black screen on startup. When I enabled Nvidia 3D the game started OK. Looks like 3D must be enabled even though my monitor does not support 3D.
