What race were you?

Either of TEC              ---> red button on Star Base = Kodiaks dead

Either of Advent          ---> star base with spin control + meteor shower with nearby hangar with shield bestowal and few repair platforms and 20 drones all with bombers should do the trick. Or you could use mines. Or you could use repulse with 100 Iluminators with holly trinity synergy in a battle ball.

Vasari Rebel              ---> titan should kill them really quickly. Don't think so but you might need few overseers to heal your titan. Or you could plant maxed up SB with 30 carriers with bombers.

Vasari Loyal               ---> SB + bombers or just a lot of bombers. You could use subverters + mines combo

There is a lot of strategies that work against that kind of fleet. Generally bombers work very well against heavy cruisers. To kill 100 of them though you do need to have substantial amount of them if using only them.....

PS Capital ships are useful for their abilities and not their DPS (damage per second). Given same fleet supply and cost their DPS is much weaker than any other fleet similar fleet supply that consist from frigates. They dont even need to be Heavy cruisers. Light frigates would shred you to death as well if attacking only capital ships.

But yeah unless you have force of similar size in DPS direct confrontation with 100 kodis is futile....

If you can get marza up to LVL 6 and upgrade it with missile barrage. First level wont kill them but it will make a serious dent to their health so they will be easier to bring down. Not sure if LVL 2 ultimate kills kodiak. For LVL 2 ultimate you need LVL 8 marza. Other than that red button and bombers are only option fore tec unless you want to build your own kodis.

When I am talking about bombers i am talking about 40-50 carriers all equipped with bombers hiding somewhere safe where kodis cannot get to them (read SB with red button). High LVL titans should work as well against them as well with their AOE abilities.  And mines although he would have to be very stupid to run them into your minefield all at the same time

When you whitle them down to 50 or so 100 of hoshikos with demobots should work as well given you turn auto repair off and they have enough anti matter. You do need some fire power frigates to actually kill them though. Hoshis are there only to disable his kodis weapons. 100 fully upgraded kodis simply has too much of fire power and momentum. 

If you scout him properly you shouldn't even let him build so many of them without getting ready with your own counters. 

truth is that if you play TEC loyalist and research twin star bases he cannot even j8ump into gravity well your controlling since with 2 SB per gravity well you can completely lock incoming phase lines. When you get that then you attack him where his fleet is not present and use hit and run tactic and play war of attrition. 

That is if he doesn't have LVL 6 akan which is only counter in game to Red Button.

Oh and if you play advent vail of sacrificed from highly populated planet should do the trick as well. Desert or terran are in my mind. Not sure if ice has enough population.

You mean something like the Percheron Light Carriers? That would be some 130 Squadrons of bombers. Sounds like a crowded map. I'll try it next time. Thanks.

If you have proper scouting or good intuition you will be able to start building carriers when your enemy starts building HCs. 

and if you are repulsing them, well thats only one race, might as well mention hoho's demobots and distorion field while we are at it.

A combination of disabling support crusiers (or guardians), and bombers is prolly best.

In addition

If the Kodiaks are in range of the repair platforms then take out them out first with bombers or Orgrovs/Adjudicators.

I'd also engage any Hoshikos (or use LF to reduce their AM reserves) that are supporting the HCs.

While the support stuff is there you could argue that your fleet's firepower is being wasted.
