Unsure if this is the right area to post about modding Rebellion, but here goes lol.

Is it possible to increase the size of ship's, say make a corvette modified for the size of a capital?

and second, I was trying to find the data for editing the pirates waves, and how much pirates are in the game at any point, but I'm at a loss, any help there?

Thanks in advance guys^^

there was a utility for xp that could re-size meshes, but from what I remember it has issues on vista and 7 and 64bit.

as far as the pirate wave count from what I remember I think it is in the gameplayconstants.

At one time, supposedly, you could specify the pirate fleet makeup.

Technically you can still do that but pirate raids are determined with "Sins math" which is never linear.  The result is, dropping all pirate raids to minimum factors still results in 20 ship raids.

In the Gameplay.constants file is a section on pirate raids that you can edit but it has limited effect.

In Rebellion I've found the absolute max/min supply modifiers actually work.

Thanks for the replys guys.

I've found that the Pirate raid modifiers DO work, as I kinda took it too far thinking it wasn't "THAT" simple and on the first raid, it sent 300 or so ships at once to me, quite amusing.

Lastly, as a small side note, anyone know how to edit the capital ship levels?

Say make the max  level a capital can reach to 20 or 30?

please say its not hardcoded.

I suppose I could write a program to increase the sizes of a given mesh file but that's some time that I don't really have at the moment...

Of course its hard coded. All you can do is change the amount of XP to reach levels and the stat changes those levels give.

You're kidding?  Can you cite me some results?  I'll go right back to pirate fixing if this is true.

modifying the prirate composition has never been an issue for me since they re-did it in Diplomacy, you can specify composition of fleets, numbers even add your own cap ships and things.

P.S. Would love to see a pic of the titan sized fighter!!!

You could specify the type of ships in the pirate waves and their probability of appearing.

The problem is the exact number of ships and exact composition of the raid and the exact probability couldn't be specific.  You also couldn't get the fleets below twenty (maybe ten early game) as it seems to have been hard-coded in.

Everything is a multiplier and covers things like fleet logistics, resource costs,  planets owned, trade vessels in play, etc. added to apparently minimum sizes for raids that couldn't be changed.

My goal had been to have pirate raids consisting of a single ship and regrettably that wasn't possible.

Based on what Lavo said above--and assuming he's correct--I'm going to try a workaround and see if I can trick out a single ship raid...if I can manage the time.

I'd love to see some experimenting and results from others on this.

You can reduce the supply of the raid in order to get it to spawn only a single ship. I've been able to make it only spawn a single, low level frigate.

I assumed the min/maxSupply function was broken was still broken when I ported over, and increased the supply as per Rebellion's gameplay.constants... Lets just say I was in for a nasty surprise.

Lol--surprise indeed.

I was under the impression that in days of old the pirate supply and fleet comps and all worked fine and sometime between Entrenchment and Rebellion it was rejiggered and remained in various stages of dysfunction.

Great to hear it's back--thanks for the info.
