Petition to remove starbase mobilization

Just throwing it out there to see if people back this.  I, personally, think all starbases should be able to move about the gravity well, but not phase jump -it effectively gives the player 2 titans on the field whereas all other factions only have 1.

This is not me trolling or hating.  If I do either, it will be obvious and EPIC!

So, for removal or not?

We at 7DS were doing mobile starbases before Sareth came up with the idea.

No...jumping SBs can be balanced...probably not by the devs (who apparently don't think they are OP), but there are ways to balance them no without even any engine changes...

If you want details I'll give them but otherwise I'll just say the balancing can be done, just don't expect the devs to do it....

we'll, its the phase jumping one that's in question.  modders will do whatever the hell they can do, but people with vanilla are fairly stuck with what's on the disk.

Guess they should you know...download mods. Not like that complicated with this game. Its as plug and play as one can get.

Edit: Hey and they can stack...yet another plus there.

I'd rather see the starbase phase jump moved to a starbase upgrade (that uses say, 3-4 upgrade points) instead of a global research.

It would be foolish to remove such an interesting element of the game, it just needs better balancing.

If it was made an upgrade, when you build a oky it doesn't automaticaly get the phase jump ability, you have to buy it (per starbase you want to jump) and in doing so you have to sacrifice other upgrades you might have bought.

I belive this would make it much less overpowered.

No to the OP. It's an interesting idea which deserves careful balancing. And likely will receive none.

I refrain from any suggestions since my blubbering is already all over the place...

I have been thinking let them jump still, but do not allow them to be upgraded offensively? No weapon or aicraft upgrades in othewords, just hull and the other abilities other than weapons and aircraft?

Must be allowed to jump...must be balanced.

If you can't cope with Orkulus Rex, go play on the sponge beds.

That's an OFFICIAL ORDER FROM THE TEC GRAND ADMIRAL MARVIN THE MARTIAN.

It could be an upgrade, but shouldn't cost 3-4 upgrade points.  So far, all uprades cost one point, and they shouldn't change it now.  If someone must make it more than one, don't go overboard... just make it cost two.

Did not do the research.

Edit: Yeah, nevermind. Didn't see that he said "Two Titans" instead of "Two Starbases". This, kids, is why you shouldn't post after only getting 3 hours of sleep.

No to OP and won't play mods, prefer intended gameplay, whatever the problems may be.

I also have faith the devs will sort it two

Since the Vasari SB doesn't have any engine exhaust, maybe the Vasari SB moves slower than anything else in game?

Giving it a great vulnerability, as once its in a enemy well, it better win a battle or it will not survive a jump.........
