Hi guys, first of all, sorry if this is the wrong section, i see similar here but also in other locations, noone said they were in wrong place so im guna go with here

SO yea, im using the galaxy forge v4, the one that i got with my steam download of rebellion. Im trying to make some Militia settlements, and its all going fine but for some reason its on a random spawn chance: sometimes they spawn sometimes they dont, i can reload the game and all 4 of them be in it, or just 2 and somtimes none of them.

I think i remember reading that i need to set the spawn to 1.000000 insteada 0.00... but that didnt change a thing same sitch

I used both guides from these posts, but their a bit outdated, so i will also quote the bits im using:

http://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/380015

Pure Galaxy Forge method.

1. In the Planet Owner field type "Militia#". Where # is 0 - 19 (unless you have changed your GalaxyScenarioDef file to have more or less Militias).  The number decides Militia name and icon as set in the GalaxyScenarioDef.

2. Double-click on the planet to open the planet's template and add a group.

3. Set the group to "Always" spawn for "PlanetOwner".

4. Finally add the ships and structures you want.

Oh some planets have a default Militia you may wish to disable (by unchecking the box at the bottom left of the planet's template editor).

Also the Planet will be colonized this way.

This is the method i want to work with as its nice and simple, and does everything i want - but leads to this random spawning hasstle and im confused.

I found another post that detailed this better but i cant find it atm ^^ just awake, but this same thread has similar so i will quote it too:

1. Open the group editor on desired planet.

2. Disable the use default template checkbox.

3. Create a new group with all the ships and/or structures (if you want the militia to own this planet) you wish.

4. Set the if Condition to either always or no owner (I don't remember which) and the Spawn for "NoOwner"

5. Now, save the map and go to the folder where it is saved. Right click on the map you made and open it with Notepad.

6. Scroll/search through the file to find the group you made, and change the NoOwner parameter to RandomMilitia.

7. If you added structures, set the colonize chance for that group to 1 as well.

So i did this step too, went in, edited it all to random militia stuff, but still same situation - random spawning lol

Any help on what i need to do to make them 100% spawn? Would love u all if you guys told me these secrets >

... and il figure out how to add rep too !

bump

tried it from scratch, added 2 new planets, 1 ice, 1 volcano, gave them to Militia0 and Militia1, set always and planet owner, gave 1 a template and another a custom group to see if it made a difference (it did not)

still same deal, random chance for them to spawn.

Any help would be lovely.

You need to do "RandomMilitia". Picking a specific militia would work in Diplomacy, but in Rebellion the game now only loads 5 or so militia players to save resources. Random militia will ensure its one of these 5.

Not to plug my own maps, but I used these methods to make this map, with many of the planets having their own militia custom set. See if it matches what yours looks like in notepad.

Also not if you later edit things in galaxy forge again, double check to make sure the ownership didn't get reset.

Hmm, so is their no way to ensure which Miltia get picked? I was hoping to have the planet named after the militia - Bulrathi over Ursa, Mrrshans over Fieras etc.

Well if you don't care about randomizing the militia, there are a few players you can always place, mainly pirates and insurgent players. You can create more with a mod, as I've done here to make a special TEC, Advent and Vasari militia that spawns in certain special circumstances, but if you want vanilla players to use your map you are stuck with random militia and those two I think.
