Counter Strike: Global Offensive came out for the PS3 today. The more expansions coming out for Battlefield 3 the more dust it gathers, so I've decided to give CS:GO a shot. If I have any fellow tacticians around wanting to join the squad let me know.

Initial reactions:

There won't be mods on the PS3 & XBOX version, so which platform to purchase it on is moot if your computer can handle it. Years have passed since I last played Counter Strike: Source. If you dive deep into the mechanics of the game you may be able to notice some difference but for someone who hasn't put 500+ hours into previous iterations the noticeable difference here is the prettier face.

If someone drops a bot takes their place. This means you might not notice your team is comprised totally of bots. This had me down about the game until two things: first, I won a game where the rest of my team were bots. second, you can take over for these bots after you die.

For downloadable FPS on the PS3: I'm enjoying this more than Battlefield 1943. CS:GO puts Gotham City Impostors to shame, but then what game doesn't?
