3 planet mod

just wondering

Hey everyone,

I'm currently attached to a modding team and one of the ideas is be to have a galactic map but with only three or four planets and have multiple location points on each planet. Could this be done? I know I can replace the planets with everything I'd want (stations, rally points, asteroids etc) but could the planets be added in on a second layer below the layer the original layer Sins uses?

it MIGHT be possible if you were to use a star as a planet (with a skybox showing the planet) and each of the locations being a empty or not so empty space sector, but there would be issues regarding population/ credits and metal/crystal sources thaatt youwould have to figure out.
