well the rebellion.user.setting file is not read only- but the problem is the rebelion.user.settings file seems also to be a shortcut icon. Could this be the problem?
Also the SOASE\Setting folder does have read only but each time I unclick the option and press amply/ok, then leave the folder and come back to it, the read only icon seems to be ticked again. Could this be the problem?
That said the actual rebellion.user.settings file does not have the read only option ticked (but again its seems to be a shortcut folder).
edit: ah it seemed to be the settings folder. I moved it to my desktop and then created a new settings folder and SOASE seemed to auto build the correct ini files. & now the user.settings file is an actual "settings file" instead of a shortcut file. That also seemed to done the trick. I have edited the user settings file in past so must have screwed up something in the process. Thanks for the quick response Goa
