Dexter Yager recalls a book he read a while back about the management principles of General Electric CEO Jack Welch. The book included Jacks "six rules for success," which Dexter mentions in one of his own books. They are:
Control your destiny or someone else will.
Face reality as it is—not as it was, and not as you wish it were.
Be candid, up-front, and totally honest with everyone.
Don’t "manage" people. Lead by example.
Change before you’re forced to. Be in control of the change and the pace of change.
If you don’t have a competitive advantage, don’t compete. Either get a competitive advantage or get out of the game.
Dexter Yager stands by these principles because the attack weakness and promote accountability. Like Dexter, you can implement these principles into your own business-building activities.
