what do you think?

We're getting our first look at the new Superman, relative unknown Brandon Routh. While these pics off his website aren't official (the Clark Kent one is a Halloween costume!) they do give us some idea of what the new Man of Steel might look like.

The tentatively titled Superman Returns is set to begin filming in early March, for a Summer 2006 release.

This 'Superman' looks like a Cappuccino drinking poofter. He more than likely disagrees with the war in Iraq. Bloody left-wing poofters.

I was thinking "What a poofter!" too. The only DC character I am really into is Batman. I like X-Men and Spider-Man from marvel a lot too. I could never get how so many people in the Superman universe can't see that Superman and Clark Kent are the same person. They look exactly the same except the Clark Kent identity wears glasses. Louis Lane gets to see both Superman and Clark Kent up close, so she should be able to recognize they are the same person!

Yes, he looks a bit weak to me. Oh, well, we'll see. (<-- This is me being purposefully dense.)

It's funny, I always preferred the DC characters overall, but I only ever subscribed to Marvel comics.

Since childhood I've said Batman was my favorite, but I might have more affection for Superman. There's something about Sup's that resonates with me at a core level. Certainly if in some alternate universe scenario I had the opportunity to portray either one, I'd much rather play Superman.

I can kind of see other people being fooled -- how many people really get a close-up look at Superman, let alone both he and Clark Kent -- but Lois Lane, of all people, should know.

That "she suspects but can't say anything without proof" stuff might have flown with the supposed journalistic integrity of the 50's but not today. Today's reporter would throw her suspicions against the wall and see if something stuck.

Maybe it's a psychological block. Maybe she set herself up to disdain Clark Kent, then fell in love with Superman before she got a good look, and now she can't psychologically accept that they are the same person.

(Good God, I'm psychoanalyzing comic strip characters....)

Well... I always thought Superman's head was bigger.
