I'm sorry but you're still confusing to me. I read your words but you're not clear on what you're saying.
Oh... I mistakenly mentioned that it is my blog.. Please, forgive me for that. |
Consider yourself forgiven.
KFC:
It's called the land of no mores. No more pain, no more crying, no more death etc. |
Basically, what I said in my blog:
"It’s like being in another place, where you are alive and well without the cumbrances that are of this earthly world. Where you will never get sick, never cry; never feel pain, where you will live the rest of your eternal life, living in peace, love and worshiping. This to me is heaven."
I don't think that anyone should be able to "correct" another persons beliefs and no book should dictate them either. |
Mslady, I agree with you!
The bible is a remarkable historical document that, tends to be, over exaggerated. Many of the wonderful stories within have been blown out of proportion, but with a purpose, since then they become more memorable and easier to learn a lesson from. |
And with this statement too. I agree that the Bible as been re-written so many times it's difficult to distinguish what is true and what is not. However, this is because 'men' would understand and learn from it.
In several discussions that have gone on here at JU someone once commented that the original bible was found by the Catholics, i.e., the Romans back in the day, who then were the head of the church and they re-wrote it. Whose to say that they didn't write what they wanted people to believe? I think that this might have some truth to it. And before I get hate responses from Catholics, this is not a bash the Catholics comment. But just to state that in those days, A.D., the Church was in charge and people lived by their rules. Perhaps what the real Bible said was too much for people to handle. So it was written in terms most people would understand.
Foreverserenity, You hold YOUR believes dear to you, there are no rules that can dictate how you feel and what you believe, just because the bible don't say it, doesn't make it wrong to believe what you feel in your heart is truth. God created us like this, to question and put things into perspective, that perspective gives us the ability to treasure everything and live our lives to the fullest, with deep heartfelt relationships with everyone we love and care about. Never let anyone tell you that what you believe in your absolute heart of hearts is true, isn't. Be Christian, and believe what you feel is right. Make your own heaven right here, right now, don't worry about the afterlife till you get to it, You live your life right, You love right, you will get to your heaven.
*huggles* |
Thank you Mslady! And don't worry, I don't get swayed very easily.
Whatever is right for you must be right. Doesn't make it so. |
And why shouldn't it be right for that person KFC? Whatever any one person believes is his/her own. It is not for you or me to tell them otherwise or to get them to change their minds. We can offer our opinions and inform them but we can not force them to believe what we do. This would be wrong!
We can't actually KNOW anything about the afterlife, it's not a tangible thing |
This is true, we don't really know. We only think we know because of what we have been told and what we read. We can have our own ideas based on our beliefs.
Ever consider that maybe Christians are wrong and we should all be following Buddha?
Buddah never claimed to be able to save us. Jesus did. |
True, the one sensible thing you've said thus far.
managed to get her beliefs bashed |
Naw, my skin is thick! My beliefs are still firmly in place! Thank you though!
I must say I'm surprise this article got resurrected! Surprised but pleased! It was one I felt good about writing. Thank you for your input, it was enlightening! Some responses were not exactly the right ones, but enlightening just the same!
