I can't stop going to Wincustomize. I change my desktops almost everyday. I am constantly experimenting with skins old and new. What gives? Is this an addiction? My wife says it's legal crack!

Actually since it has more benefits than poisons somebody will call it medication and some HMO will take over. Then we'll all wish we had paid subscriptions years in advance.

For a bit over a year now, I have survived on approx 4 hours of sleep a night and 80% of that is caused by WC. I can't decide if that makes this site a stimulant, a dependency, an obsession, a sickness, or just dang fun.

There must be at least some sort of chemical reaction that takes place, because I have not only survived on a lot less sleep, but actually thrived. That typically is not healthy for a human being (or animal), so something is creating a stimulant like response in the electronic firings in my brain. BoXXi is right. It's all of the above.

O.K., by show of hands, who's ever gotten in trouble with a significant other, their kids, or maybe (shudder) an employer because of this addiction?

One morning the wife went into coniptions(?) because the previous night at 11pm she said, "don't be up too late." I SAID "I won't." 3 hours later I finally crawled into bed. Boy did she chew on me!

Sad thing is, it still happens. I try. I really do, but I'm hooked. To quote an old Diana Ross song: "If there's a cure for this, I don't want it, I don't want it."

Stupendous Man, I was in the bad books with my other half twice in one week, very early on in the piece.....once for 3 days , and once for 4 days. After that.....

WC was like 'the other woman' and disliked with a passion, but all the tantrums and dummy spits were futile, objections fell on deaf ears, alternative plans were thwarted, as this obsessive compulsion overtook all that stood in its way. If perchance there are still objections and anti-WC sentiments, I'm totally oblivious to them....simply, there's no distraction to draw my fixated attention from the beautiful pages I endlessly behold.

Standing on a lonely street corner looking for my next WC fix. Hey man can you hook me up! Cops pull up; I start to move along as I don't need to spend another night in jail over my WC habit. I sold my belongings, and I am now into snatching the pocketbooks of little old lady's at the supermarket. Just, Just, just to get that one more delightful fix of WC. I hear there is rehab at the Brad Wardell clinic for WinCustomize abusers and it's on the same scale as the Betty Ford clinic. Frogboy starts you on withdrawal skins, first full blown animated skins, then slowly each week a little less in each skin until you can kick the habit on your own. But WC is so consuming that your habit will start the minute you are in front of a computer. I'm going next week and kick it for sure this time, who am I kidding. So for now I need just one more fix, one more skin or even one more gadget to hold me over. Hey lady you want to buy a poodle? I have a Mac here I'll sell you, cheep!

Veery interesting. My wife calls my computer my 'girlfriend' or "the other woman". I also have two friends whose wives say the same thing about their computers. O.K., so are there any ladies out there who have this other man problem?

I have come to the conclusion that it's not an addiction, nor an obsession....nor a sickness for which one should be treated.

NO, it's a way of life: the air we breath; the dreams we dream; everything we do.

Last night I dreamt skins, skins, skins. I can almost taste the next great skin to be posted

As for the other woman... well I'm in even more trouble...I'm now sleeping with her as well...if and when I ever get to bed.

The Brad Wardell rehab clinic? Seems to me that such a place would only exist for those who don't skin
