Hey fuzed1

Do you still want a mod for this, I'm only asking because I have done one.

Max Fleet is 100000+ went fully Upgraded.

Capital ships is 100+ went fully Upgraded.

You just need to modify the necessary research entity files.  For example, in RESEARCHSUBJECT_MAXCAPITALSHIPSTECH1.entity, you'll see the following which is pretty self explanatory:

researchModifier
    modifierType "CapitalShipMaxSlots"
    baseValue 0.000000
    perLevelValue 1.000000
researchModifier
    modifierType "CapitalShipMaxSlotLevel"
    baseValue 0.000000
    perLevelValue 1.000000

And in RESEARCHSUBJECT_MAXCAPITALSHIPSTECH7.entity:

researchModifier
    modifierType "CapitalShipMaxSlots"
    baseValue 0.000000
    perLevelValue 3.000000
researchModifier
    modifierType "CapitalShipMaxSlotLevel"
    baseValue 0.000000
    perLevelValue 1.000000

There is another if you just want to have a big fleet and keep the capital ship popcap as standard.

Go to My Computer, Local Dick (C):\Program Files\Stardock\Sins of a Solar Empire\GameInfo.

Then look for a file call Gameplay.constants open the file with notepad, then down the file and look for this below.

    fleetSupplyData-Small
        fleetSupplyScalar 0.75
    fleetSupplyData-Normal
        fleetSupplyScalar 1.0
    fleetSupplyData-Large
        fleetSupplyScalar 1.25

Then just change the fleetSupplyScalar number to 1000 and save and close the file.

Here is my one for example.

    fleetSupplyData-Small
        fleetSupplyScalar 250.0
    fleetSupplyData-Normal
        fleetSupplyScalar 500.0
    fleetSupplyData-Large
        fleetSupplyScalar 1000.0

The Small fleet will be 25000 Fleet Supply Slots from the start.

The Normal fleet will be 50000 Fleet Supply Slots from the start.

The Large fleet will be 100000 Fleet Supply Slots from the start.

If your using Notepad++ just go down to 433, I would highly recommend anyone to use Notepad++ for modding games.

I like this option of scaling your fleet. Do you have any experience on how it affects any multiplayer online games you might wanna play later on ?

You'll have to disable the mod to play online with people who don't have it :P

So what you're saying is, that it's a really bad idea to go in and change this value in your default installation, unless you change back the values before going online ?

Oh, and another question from me. I can open the Constants-file with notepad, but how do I open the ENTITY files ? Attempting to open them with Notepad doesn't seem to produce the paragraph described above (the research files for capital shipts).

Yep. Changing the core game files is never recommended :)

Go to the site's downloads section (button on the forum page header) and download the Forge Tools. There will be a Reference Data folder in the archive, with the text versions of all the files in GameInfo.
