I think you are asking the wrong place, but to answer you first question, the game does not support DX10, and I hope it doesn't for some time, as for your other questions, I think you current card is fine, Im running a ATI X800pro and have no issues with running this game, but the CPU is used a bit more due to the AI calculations, as for the market becoming flooded with DX10 games, possibly but those supported and published by M$ certainly will be, as for others, they should still support DX9 for a while unless they lose a large market share, from stardock's own research, if they support vista only, they will lose 85% of customers, as vista hasn't really been all that well received

just realised the rock xtreme 770 is a notebook, the specs seem fine but you will need to install DX9 to play sins

Matthew is right.

Contrary to popular belief, Vista wasn't that well received and is also only used by roughly 7% of the gaming community(Figure by Wallstreet Journal). Plus, if Stardock makes this game DX 10, then it'll only support Vista as the OS unless they had DX 9 compatibility, but then it'll be very unfair to players who don't have DX 10 (either due to money or because they just don't have the interest right now)

However, I do have a question of my own. I play game's like Supreme Commander which strangely enough has FPS issues late in the game(Crysis runs rather smoothly as long as I don't use 8x AA), but yet my system is pretty advanced compared to what I used to have two years ago:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6400, 2133 MHz (8 x 267)
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS Pci x16 (320 MB)
2 GB's of Ram (SuperTalent)

I don't typically overclock my computer, but will this be enough to run Sin's without much problems?

I've seen worse. Kastronida is a Kel Thuzad-level necromancer but you have to raise a thread from at least a year of death to equal Lich King-level dead raising skillz.

well from wat i can see is that the game will run on 512mb...but you will need 1 gb.. ok no prblem...and 2 ghz is required...now will this PC run it easily (its mine)

P4 2 GHZ
512mb
geforce 7600 (256 mb)

i wont mind playing it on medium setting..i have been able to run games like crysis on this PC with a combnation of medium and low settings.... and withcer at medium settings but uptil now with no final system requirements i am a bit concerned... i know i am a on the low side from ram...but will the others meet up to the game requirement??

yes we are not all 10 year old kids who have parents paying all the bills feeding us and waiting on us hand and foot so we can stay glued to the 5,000 dollar comp they bought so we can waste every waking moment getting dumber hehe


but seriously i do want to know what the actualy system needed that will run with no lag. Not what you rich people think is acceptable lag i mean no lag at all, and still be on the affordable side.

I doubt this game could do any good on anything less then 2 ghz from what i saw in the trailer.



I have a 2.1 ghz Athalon based system with 1 gb ram and a 256 mb nvidia 6200 vid card and the game runs fine. It DOES load slow at the start but during the game it runs fine, at least in my opinion.

You could probably decrease the beginning load time significantly by dropping your texture setting down one. I had the same problem and going from "Highest" to "High" dropped load times from almost a full minute to just about 5 seconds...

Well I'm glad to see that SOASE developers at least have some sense when it comes to Specs...

I've been watching the development with mild interest, not thinking I'd actually buy it with this peice of #($& Dell intergrated graphics card, but the "boss" out of guilt about spending $2000 on new furniture let me buy a new laptop. (whoo hooo!!)

anyway I was looking and found a deal on 2.3 Mhz AMD platform with 4 GB RAM, (yes it's vista 64bit so I can use it) with 512Mb Video in ATI HD 2600. not the best machine but good for the price. Then I proceeded to check out what new games I could play and was appalled at the real system req.'s for Supreme Commander... (What where THEY thinking??? even the new 8800 and quad cores seem to have problems running that game)

anyway looks like my $50 will be comming to SOASE rather than Supreme Commander
