I'm excited. But for me this would be nothing but a stop gap until Sins, whereas Genesis is an RTS, Sins is "RT4X", which is something new and I feel more worthy of my attention....that said I may still get this game to satisfy my bloodlust.

tryed signing up for the beta, but got this "invalidcode". Would have been nice to try it out and see how it is.
Oh well, waiting for sins then

I agree, after seeing the new video @ ign, I am not that impressed... It looks very linear like homeworld...

I am really excited about the SOASE RT4X concept!

I like the idea of playing the Humans in this game, they sound cool for a change.I like the graphics style but all the ships seem to be at the same 2d level.

does anyone have a problem with the fokey names? I mean seriously...

This branch is directed by the Military High Commander, General Supreme.

isn't it dreamcatcher? doesn't that mean it will be crap?

Doesnt look very good at all. 2d and space battles look very matchbox size. A devolution from homeworld 2 rather then evolution like Sins

as i said, i got a key and tested it out. I didnt like it at all

you mentioned the "i got a key" part.
you left out the "I didnt like" part...

well when i posted the "i got a key" part, i was downloading the game.

But for what i didnt like about it:

1. The ships attack like in earth and beyond, where they stand still and do there stuff.

2. When the ship is getting new weapons it says your ship is mutating, i dont see any animation of it.

3. When i have to use some special weapons, and my ships are in sight i have to click on the icons above the ships to use em. But when looking away. The icons are at there ship portraits.

4. when i upgrade ships with new weapons there hp is increased too, so ill have to find some of my blood harvesters special ability, so i can "repair" or what its called to heal them.

5. And there aint any other beta testers to test the game with..

But i think it could be a good game, not the best, but i has its charm. As it got some new ideas, that i never thought about. Like the ships are organic. They use blood to heal, build and upgrade with new weapons.
But ofcourse ill keep testing the game and send in my thoughts until it bores me

it says your ship is mutating, i dont see any animation of it.

now thats cheap.

Actually, even worse the visual mutation is the same regardless of what gene you implement. A giant dual-barrel cannon will appear after adding an armor gene...

Also, there is a complete lack of information on weapon damage, duration of special effects, etc. It is really hard to determine what weapon is better for any given situation...

The maps you fight in are disappointingly small and the total unique unit count per faction is seven units. All the factions are near mirror images of each other ship wise, and those consist of a mothership, station, collector, factory, light combat ship, medium combat ship, and heavy combat ship. The last three being only incremental improvements over the other, i.e. more hp, more gene slots, and more heat tolerance.

Was a fairly disappointing experience overall, and there are just so many things wrong with the game that the few good things (organic ships and err...) don't even remotely make up for them.

By the way, what or where does all this magical fairy space blood come from? Well the the game never really explained it at all.

Multi do u have Xfire?
well i used to use it. But it just seemed to have an impact one a few games. So im not using it anymore.
My name there is either Multianna or TheMaster80k

I uninstalled the beta game well-over a month ago, because no-one was online leaving me to the rather unsatisfying artificial player and so on.

Multi, if Xfire is causing performance problems with a specific game, you can turn off the in-game support for that given game, which should resolve the problem.

Once again DreamCatcher released a game that no one will play. This is very unfortunate. Genesis Rising is pretty unique.

The concept of morphing is cool, but judging by the beta, the actually gameplay is really boring. The ships just sit still and shoot each other until one side falls. No other action going on like fighters engaging tactical combat or something.

Dreamcatacher has released MANY games with a unique idea or two in it - however it almost never releases any games that you actually want to play - it's unfortunate.

I COMPLETELY agree Glavius. Hegemonia, Universal Combat (Although it pretty much was a freelancer copy) and Genesis are perfect examples. However I'll just get Genesis for the cool ship designs
