New skinner nneds help please?

Hey everybody, my name is Joe. I'm new at skinning and have downloaded the video tutorials for windowblinds and they have set me on my way. I'm in the taskbar and working on the start button and i have chosen a three state image for the pucture, cut it chose all states already in it and used it for the start button. Well the button that showed up is a whole heart and half of the next one. my question is how the hell do i get it to show one heart in the different states. i have a link to the picture of my screen so you can see what i am talking about: (http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y290/Iownpinkyinc/ForSkinstudioHelp.jpg), if someone could be so kind as to help it'd be appreciated. so i can move along or this is going to drive me crazy. i just wanna post a skin b4 i die...i'm 26 yrs old and it been 3 weeks i been on this skin(its my first and i want it to be good).

With some parts you can change the number of frames/states of it but I believe for the Start Button it must be 5 frames. That is why you are getting only about 3/4 of the heart, your 3 frame image is being cut into 5 frames. The third and fifth frames are need but not used, you can just make those frames of the image blank.

I was 31 when I started my first skin , 32 when I finished it   

He is right check the frame count for your start button, its in the Animation section for the start button.

Honestly, I would tone down the saturation of the color just a bit and lighten it just a bit but its kind of hard to tell from the screenshot. You can always post how yours looks in the screenshot section to get a reaction from folks on WC though.

I agree with what vStyler said and would also add for the start menu places and programs could use a bit of gaussian blur to soften it.

ok i will as soon as i get up but i'm off to bed right now man...thank you so much for your help.i tried to lighten up the colors a bit to and apparently i suck, lol. anyways i will do it tommorrow and once again i really appreciate it. i thought it would be easier than this.
