Several factories, only one spawn point

Situation:
I had an existing cap ship factory. I queued up 10 or so cap ships by selecting the planet and queuing them up from there (i.e., not queued at the cap ship factory itself). Then I queued up 2 more cap ship factories so that the ships could build in parallel.

Problem:
After the second and third factories were completed, ships were being built in parallel but they were all coming out of the same cap ship factory (the original one). They were coming out 2 or 3 at a time but at the same factory. They probably should be coming out of the factory that actually built them.

Haha I was going to ask this also... As there is no point in building more than 1 right now at a planet.

If you don't build more than one at a planet you likely fall way behind in production. It allows you to build things in parallel. I've seen screenshots where someone had like 18 frigate factories and 3 capitalship factories in one system! lol

I have yet to build more than 1 capital ship factory... I spend too much time taking screenshots and not enough time playing.

uhh, you mean giving eacht planet its own shipyard is to little? maybe in a high resource game, with zero ships left....but I really can't afford that in any game.
I've played some multi-system maps where I had 8 frigate yards around the my 'production world' (located far outside the sun, where enemies arrive) pumping ships to said sun, but that meant I couldn't get out a lot of capships (single yard always active)

Yeah thats what I normally do.. I ussually have like 7 or 8 Frigate factories, and because the ships come out of the original, all the ones I build after it I build right next to eachother, right in front, to save space and all.

I only build ship yards at my home planet. It dosent take that long for em to get to the front. But in a multi system game it might not be that good if all your ships pop out at the first shipyard he he.

But so far i only play single system games since its seems a bit flawed at the moment. I havent yet encounterd a single AI in any of the other systems. I know they all start in the same but they never seem to expand to other systems.
