2 Bug include image and detail

bug unit AI after give move order; ghost route

The ship in picture is showed flying toward the system in the background when it arrive in system after move order. Notice I never gave the order to move after move because it said auto return to position.

The picture kinda say it all because the route kinda lead nowhere. Notice that I absolutely has no idea how to reproduce this bug.

Thanks for the pictures and the bug report. We have had one other report of this and we are trying to reproduce it internally so we can fix it

I'm pretty sure this is because of Defend Local Area. Set them on it in one system, then jump to another. I think it happens when they lose their auto attack target.

Dito, had this happen today too...

I put them on Defend Local Area, forgot to return it to Defend GW, and jumped em to another planet. After dealing with some of the locals that where close they decided to "fly" (not jump) home to their old positions in the previous system.

I've noticed the same thing with the defend local area behavior.

I have seen this occur as well. Additionally, it seems to me (since I never remember to turn off the defend local area behavior) that the definition of local area changes if you give a new attack command. That is, you jump in to a new system (while on defend local area) and immediatly give an order to attack a ship. The default response of your ship after this seems to be to go back to where it arrived in system.

I also notice that another side effect of this bug is that it cause the ship to be "outside"(outside being won't show up on the icon when zoom out to galaxy level) of the system so it won't jump to another planet or whatever until I give an order to move to a target (tested another ship, haven't through test others target). Lastly this can be annoying because it would cause more than several ship to be stuck in other system when you need them to move to the forward with the group.
