Select All of Same Type

Hello,

I have not noticed an option to select all ships of the same type in a group/system. It would be easier to select out your siege frigates or heavy frigs from the group to assign them a task different to the rest. It would be very helpful for when you miro-manage a fleet in battle for both defense and attack.

How do you turn on stacking? Why couldn't we just double click a unit?

Ah, the icon stacking. It works great. startrekdork, Just above the empire tree there is a list of yellow/brown icons that toggle features of the tree. Toggle Icon Stacking and when you have a group/system selected and expanded in the tree you can select all units of the same type by clicking on thier icon stack.

yep, it was a great idea, its even easier than double clicking!

I still think double clicking to select all ships of similar type On-Screen is a really usefull feature when managing a battle. I agree the stacking thing is A Good Thing(tm), but I don't always want to select all ships around the whole planet.

Besides, Doubleclicking is an intuitive control.

Why couldn't we just double click a unit?


Double clicking focuses the camera on the object. As noted by others though, Alt+Click will select all units of the given type.
