Minor Races

I was wondering if there will minor races like in GalCiv2? It does get a bit boring running into just pirates when exploring.

I believe just pirates and the 2 other full races...

3 races is the standard for any RTS , see SUPCOM.

The Pirates are just a cool bonus!

Pirates can be a bit like a minor faction, if they can use Dead Asteroids as small secret bases (with a small income for just them) and they attack factions that have bounties on them.

I'm all for minor races. Shoot the big dogs need someone to push around before going at each others. What I would like to see if minor races are added is a chance that they will forum an alliance and attacking one is attacking all and they truly help each other. Then it would be like a proverbial fourth big dog from hell as an added bonus.

Pirates going after bounties is a good idea. I mean they are Pirates its what they are supposed to do. It would be nice to take over pirate bases(if they had any) and produce privateers without risk of starting a full war. Maybe a marine transport ship able of taking over bases and planets without completely annihilating them.

They should also attack trade wessels , I mean vessels, because you know pirates do that kinda thing.

One could argue though that the standard in 4X games is lots and lots of (alien) races. See MoO series. ;)

Better not look at Master of Orion 3 actually, you might go blind.
