Alright changing the beam color is really not that hard provided you have the right tools. You will need photoshop, or another program that can open and edit .dds files.
The files you want to change are in the textures folder. They are are TechCapitalBeam_Core.dds and TechCapitalBeam_Glow.dds
Basicly just change these to the color you want and walla. Be sure not to delete the alpha channel as that determines what is actually displayed. There will be more on this when I release my modding guide
