Theatre of WAR

Anyone hear about this? I am giving the Demo a download, it is only 653 MB! Looks pretty good from the screenshots. Reminds me a lot of Brothers in Arms, just on a larger scale.

I was looking forward to this game till the demo came out, and it featured a boatload of performance problems, outdated graphics, and meager unit counts. I couldn't really make heads-or-tails of the gameplay due to performance problems, but it seemed tanks/tank destroyers were greatly over-powered.

I sort of just stayed static in one position and annihilated what might have been six tanks and roughly fifty men equiped with anti-tank weaponary and rifles with only three tanks/tank destroyers. Mind you, the AT infantry was right on top of my tanks and couldn't manage to penetrate my armor (from the side/rear-side) it seemed, which makes me think I'm very-lucky or the game has bad penetration math. Of course, the game was lagging so bad, I couldn't really tell.

My other friends couldn't enjoy the game either due to huge performance problems, and they had better machines then me. I hope the game runs better for you, as I would like to hear how it plays out.

I tryed the demo yeasterday. And using qx6700 with 8800GTX and i got between 0-1fps...
So i changed all the graphics to low, and it ran fine. But i wanted to max it out, so i tryed to find what option that did the slowdown. Couldnt find any problems as i tested it ran on max afterwards o_O

But about the game itself, its not my kind of game..
-The graphics are not good.
-Controls are abit weird.
-When tanks are destroyed, they are still there, so you cant see if you still control it or not well atleast they could add another spirit for when its destroyed.

Weird..... the game plays super fast when you disable one of the Cores ( if you are running dual core) and I agree the overall game seems like CRAP. Thank goodness they released a demo...

Well, problem was, my current rig doesn't run a dual-core, and honestly I've had massively larger battles on Company of Heroes with physics, bullets flying everywhere, crazy effects, and some gameplay to boot. Note: I mostly play modifications that just furthered the experience, but ToW just doesn't stack well even against vanilla CoH.

Maybe, there was a huge compatibility problem somewhere that is affecting people (and me), but honestly the game looks like something from the DirectX 8 generation of games, not a DX9/DX10 game. I could have overlooked that if the gameplay, sound (ugh) was probably better, and considering how everyone else seems to also hate the gameplay there is no hope of that.

Yeah I have to agree, this game is a flop...

Not my style of game. I'm simply not a FPS oriented guy. I also have to agree the graphics and the environment as well as the GUI seem to be lacking...
