I didn't play much of it because, at least for me, the patch broke certain things, and irritated me enough (well, actually, just the fighters, and I'm tired) I just flat out hit exit.

+ Fixed bug where fighters don't use their auto-attack range properly.

Don't know exactly what this means, but now fighters don't attack at all. Enemy had a bomber squadron, I had fighters as usual to counter bombers, fighters chased bombers but never fired a single shot. Bombers killed my flagship.

+ Attack & repair circles are now more visible.

Actually, now they are not visible at all, while I used to be able to see them moderately well.

+ Improvements to initial load times.

As far as I can tell, there is no difference, and if there is, it is in the single digit seconds (which when compared with 2-3 mins is negligible).

Also, my battleship spins in circles sometimes when I tell it to attack, and I have to tell it to attack again to stop it. This is a problem I have had before but never mentioned since I didn't see anyone else having the problem, but I'm in a feedback mode so meh.

Also, when I close the program, my computer slowed down to a crawl, usually it slows down a little when I close any game but not that much, and not for that long (took about 30 seconds to open firefox, slowdown continued for a few minutes).

Anyone else having any of these problems?

*i had the same problem just now when i exited.

*On the after game charts i was not getting any money from trade ships as a matter of fact no one was. however i am not sure if i was getting money from them or not. it might just be the chart.

*When i have a trade alliance the computer is constantly telling me to build more trade ports. Even when i have the max.

*When a fleet is coming to one of my systems i get the "Comsat has detected inbound enemy ships" for each ship it will say it like 20 times. the same is true for when it says enemy ships have arrived in system.

Overall it is a good improvement.

1) it tells me the only thing open for download is version .010
2) dled it anyhow, the result was I had all sorts of "english code string missing DI" or something similar, I could bypass that by clicking directly on it from SD, but it would have more errors in trying to load a game.

very irritating...

Well the install went very well, the only issue I am having is when I build a capital ship the entire game freezes 10-15 seconds and my hard drive lights up like a christmas light and then the ship appears and the game un-freezes. Maybe I need to run defrag?

I didn't get much play time in as I had to head into work ( where I am now ).

I enjoyed the art changes of the Marza, Dunov, and the Soya (hope I spelled them right).

I think the Research station looks different, or is it just me? And I didn't get to build a trade port yet so I don't know what it looks like... Can someone post a picture or two?

I liked that not all ships have the ability to build fighters right off the bat.

I didn't personally see any problems with the fighters or bombers, but I only had 5 minutes to play with them.

More thoughts and feelings to come when I get actual time to play later tomorrow...

Excellent Job IronClad!

Many of those bugs are confirmed. We'll issue a hotfix shortly. Thanks for the quick reports

i think that will go into the category of moving turrets.

Both would be nice eye candy, but then again.. it might not be in..

It MUST be put in, else when the ships jump into phase space they bays will rip off!

tried unloading and loading back on again, same errors.
the application is still accessible IF you log onto SD and load from there. even then there is an error the instant you try to load up a previous game (havent tried a new one, probably will have the same error) but you cant send the dump file because it locks up and, while you can exit the game using CTRL-ALT-DEL, a black box sits over the dump file, obscuring it. exiting the game also deletes the dump file.

my computer is below the reqs for this game, but it was working fine before, what happened?

i can confirm, the same problem.
Though i got a quad core so i dont see the slow down, but one of the cores uses 100%, since the game dont shut down.

the patch version is different
old one 0.62[b].010
NEW one 0.65[b].010

its the 65 you gotta look at.

But have you tryed to reinstall the game?

Random question, I've seen reference patch v0.65.011 but my SD shows v0.65[b].010, are these the same? Also, will the 'hotfix' be released through SD like a normal patch?

- Install was good (albeit access to Stardock Central was slow -- perhaps lots of traffic or problem with ISP [Verizon]). Complained about not being able to activate game, but it worked fine?

- Initial load is confirmed slightly faster than previous (from average of around 100 seconds to about 45 seconds)

- Auto attack ranges are behaving oddly, or I don't understand them. I believe that they have been reported and will be fixed.

- Game continues to be wonderfully smooth, even zoomed in on a fighter during a battle involving 60+ frigates and capital ships and associated fighter squadrons on my just above "medium" hardware (below)

- New graphics are welcome indeed

- Still exprience noticable framerate decrease when more than a couple phase "wakes" are visible. Any possibility of combining ships into single wakes if they depart together? New graphic looks good though.

- Confirmed that phase lines no longer jump around (THANK-YOU!)

- I don't recall if this was addressed or not, but group jumping seems to be working much better (I got out of the habbit of using it, but tried it a few times and it worked well)

- Weapon graphics looked better (not sure if this was increased resolution or if it was addressed)

- Weapon sounds seem marginally better

As a NOTE: I went from standard monitor at 1280x1024 to widescreen 1680x1050 -- both the beauty and playability go up with resolution!! Interface works much more nicely with a wide screen, also.

Hardware:
CPU: AMD Athlon64 3400+
RAM: 1GB PC3200
VIDEO: 256MB GeForce 7800 GS AGP (ForceWare 93.71)
HDD: 120GB WD Caviar SE (8mb cache) (not been defragged lately)
SOUND: SoundBlaster Live! Value (I know, leave me alone)

Shoot you should try it at on dual 30" monitors at max resolution; it looks glorious!!

I'd love to see the rest of the specs that create exceptable framerates in any game graphically intensive game. Just a single 30" is enough to bring most graphic-cards to their knees.
