Kind of the truth though(the nobody else here part), I may be the only ToE to still visit the forums and I don't play much anymore. I try once in awhile to start up a game. I usually get through my favorite part, the colony rush but lose interest after that.

Just this one. 


  

I knew that but as you can tell the forums are not very active these days.

I'm here.  I check in once a year whether I need to or not.     

Hiya. been quite a while since I last checked the galciv forum or even played the game.

But recently - for whatever reason - I installed the game again and might play one or another game again. Used to be fun. Couldn't believe it was 2007 when I played the game actively....how time flies. OMG.

All the splendid evilness that once was....the good ol'times of slave whipping and stuff.

Another 4 years gone by already.

Mumble, you heard from DA at all? I havent heard from him since September last year, i hope all is well, i knew he was a having a heard time.

I do have his email, ty, and i email him about once per month, but like you i get no response. I see on Battle.net he was active about 8 weeks ago, and knowing how into SC2 he was, i'd say he has lost his net connection. If you do hear from him at all, let me know mate, and i'll do likewise.

There are metaverse games being submitted every day. Not as much as there used to be but there's still plenty of activity.

You perhaps may not be understanding what a metaverse game is. A metaverse game is still a single player game but it's essentially a "ranked" game that get's listed in what amounts to a high score list, both in the Stardock supported Metaverse as well as an alternate metaverse AltMeta which was designed and is maintained by Kryo. The difference between the two is primarily in how cumulative games are scored over time and both are useful.

All you need to do to start a metaverse game is to create a metaverse character and when starting a game click the Metaverse button and be online so that the game is "registered" by the metaverse server. Thereonafter you can be offline as you play the game for however long it takes. Once you win the game you need to be online and you can submit the game to the metaverse.

The AltMeta basically takes all the data from Stardocks metaverse and displays it in alternate ways. The one criteria to have your metaverse games included in the AltMeta is to be a member of one of the top 50 empires which is really not all that hard since at this point all you would need would be a cumulative score of 135K or so. You also would need to ask Kryo to include you on the list by putting in a request in the AltMeta Help Desk thread.

Hehe......That reminds me of something glorious...errr...unfortunate that happpened not too long ago. I was showing the Snathi ambassador how to build up a massive military force via instant upgrade. Just for anecdotal purposes, you understand. Nothing sinister, I assure you. Well, we all know how devious....errr...clumsy the Snathi are. After rigging the entire weapons system to a single button in the central control room, I >thought< I heard the doorbell ring. Nobody there. Go figure. Anyway, by the time I got back to the CCR, the Snathi ambassador was standing there looking very guilty. You know the look, like a dog who just shit in your dress shoes. After considerable torture...err... coaxing, he reluctantly admitted that he unintentionally initiated an "unfortunate and unforeseeable triggering event" while I was out of the room. Now, I really don't remember leaving BOTH of the detonator keys in their respective switches, but I suppose I COULD have.....

Anyway, 8 weeks later the other races all surrendered their entire territories, so no harm done.
