Ai's Dialogue

Through the many games that I have played its games like Sins of a Solar Empire that make me think "What in the world is that Ai trying to say to me?" I make a Trade agreement and the ai says great we would love to trade. then you offer to trade Information or some other thing like that and they say " We would never accept an offer from you scum."/exaggerated. It makes me want to cancel the trade aggrement right away. While the ai repling to you is a wonderful thing and it needs to be in the game. I think the things the ai says to you should have a little more feeling and awareness about the circumstances that the ai is saying them. If I have a trade agreement the ai should recognize this and say something a little better like "sorry that information is to sensitive to be shared with you right now. Maybe if you help us take (name of planet)".

Also humans tell the truth, lie backstab, help cheat, make mistakes, have honor, and sometimes mercy (most of the time justice). I think it would be nice to have these "human"-like qualities in the game. The ai's would "Help (or hinder) you" based on your past actions towards them. Maybe have some of ai and the your fleets argue with eachother (your would here the arguments on the com channles) and take shots at eachother. Not Death blow shots; just warning and minimal damage shots. Also if you had been nice to the ai in the past he might give you gifts (he would thank you for a past event over the com channel).

If your going to play a game where the computer talks to you at least make some attepmt at makeing the computer recognize when and where its comments should go. Insults in war and prais in peace.

p.s.(Sorry if there is any spelling or grammar errors)

Sounds like a bug, thx for pointing it out as this one hasn't come up yet. The Sins AI's responses should accurately reflect his opinion of you. They track all the events that you have done to them and respond accordingly (e.g if you blew up a lot of his stuff, he would deny you a trade agreement and tell you because you blew up his stuff).

I find it funny though that sometimes the AI in the earlier beta would trip its own decisions up (I dont know about the current, I just ignore my enemies and plow through them w/out any assistance). many times it would hand over a cascade of agreements only to cancel everything and say "the cost of those frigates is coming out of you!!!" attack, retract and hand out more agreements.

sounds human to me

isn't that what russia and the united states did during the cold war
Reply #4 Top
not really... cold war was more like two pouting children

Two pouting children with a lot of firepower.

oh, then you've never seen two kids pout, it would put the greatest nations in the world to shame.
Except I and you ninjas but that is whole another can of pout.

You gotta love the marauders: "Plunder and booty off the port bow!"

in my current game the AI should mock me more , especially since on HARD they are kicking my butt...

The AI still whispers stupid things after you ally with them like "your destruction is inevitable", and "I suggest you evacuate planet (insert name) NOW! The one that gets me is when both of us are fighting another AI at the same planet i get "Why am i here, and your not?!" I think the AI taunts still need a little work

I like what the AI says, but would be nice if the text was moved near the bottom of the screen for easier viewing, and not sure, but is there anyway to bring up a log on what the AI has said? as sometimes the texts appears then disappears and I don't always read it in time, and sometimes its a bit hard to read it depending on the colour of the that they use, (player colour)

One thing I notice is that the AI comment so far is still a little generic, as in most of the time it's the I gonna kick your butt attitude no matter what the situation. In Galciv2 if you are winning a war against an AI, they'll admit it with something like you're kicking my butt! or pushing me around is your idea of fun heh!? something to the extend of putting them below you. In Sins the AI are always bossy. I almost wiped a guy out and he keeps saying my destruction is invertible even when he has only one planet left.

yeah get this too a lot, the AI needs to adept and says stuff in a better manner depending on the current and changing situation, it would make the AI a lot better
