Crash to Desktop after 30 minutes of play

I installed the beta on my home machine last night and have encountered a problem:

If I play the game for longer than 30 minutes (roughly anywhere between 38 to 42 minutes, yes I timed it), it crashes to desktop with the only error message being a request to email a .dmp file.

Here are some of the specs of my machine:

OS: Windows Vista Ultimate
Proc: Pentium D 3.6 (2 cores)
RAM: 2048 PC5400 (4x Corsair XMS2)
Video Card: PNY Nvidia GeForce 7900GTX 512MB
Motherboard: Intel 965 WH
Video Card Drivers: ForceWare 158.24
Direct X Version: 10
Audio Card: Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum
Audio Card Drivers: 2.12.0002

I do not have any programs running the background and the Sidebar is completely turned off. I have run Driver Cleaner, blew out the Nvidia drivers and redownloaded and installed them. No change.

Would Ironclad like the dump file and, if so, where should I email it?

Any suggestions?

If your game crashes you should get a message "Do you want to send the minidump to the people who caused it?" or something like that. If you clicked yes, you've already sent it. If you didn't, you can send it to [email protected]. (Please zip it if you are emailing it manually) Include your .exe too if you can.

Thanks!

Will I get a reply from Ironclad or Stardock regarding the dump? I've emailed the first one but, unfortunately, Gmail doesn't allow me to send the executable, either zipped or rar'ed.

I have no problems continuing to send them in but it happens every single play session.

We don't normally respond to minidumps as we recieve so many unless it's a special case and we need more information. You can send zip or rarred files by renaming the extension to something like ".zi_". We hope to have a patch out later this week and hopefully that will fix your specific problem. Thanks for sending your first dump file, they are extremely useful

Hi Blair,

Thank you for the clarification in general. As I have said elsewhere, I appreciate the effort that Ironclad is going through to make this beta as accessible as possible. In the current industry climate where devs usually don't talk to their player base, you guys are refreshing and are deserving of every penny that SoaSE makes. I've definitely recommended it to several friends and coworkers.

We are still on your bug I swear! We recieved just two other minidumps with the same problem as yours and we are trying to get more information from those testers in the hopes of tracking it down. Thanks for your patience and help
