Adjust Game Speed

One feature that would be really nice would be an adjustatable speed setting. At times I want to be able to do a bunch of stuff at once, and at other's I'm just sitting there waiting for my capships to get to the enemy system. It would be really nice to have a couple of keys that would increase/decrease playspeed. Not sure how that would work in MP, but that's a ways off.

Agreed!

I'm better at TBS games than at RTS games, so if I cannot slow down the speed in a RTS, my micromanagement style gets frustrated (and I become really stressed).

In the opposite direction, players who are impatient RTS veterans would probably want to speed up things (since they prefer the tactical frenzy of combat-operations to the grand-strategic snooze of empire-micromanagement).

I like both, but at the very least I want something like from starcraft, preferably one that is toggleable in game though.
MP would have to be chosen at the beginning and locked for the game though.
