I've seen the AIs build capital ships aplenty on medium.

they do on hard, but they usually send them in with MINIMAL support, talking a dunov with a couple LRMS and a couple cobalts, or a marza with a few siege frigs.

It does but it generally sucks at building fleets. AI fleets are pathetic and having cap ships in there only exacerbates problem ( he loses cap ships for nothing) .

I've had a single Sova jump right into an inhibitored, gauss cannoned and hangared system. And the AI already knew these things were there (earlier scouts ran into the same thing). I think there needs to be some kind of "only send capships when tactical info on target system is <## seconds old" routine.

Yeah Daton is pretty much right, the AI needs to forget sooner. (i.e He does track information for X amount of time but we need to reduce how long he considers his intelligence on that planet valid).

they seem to always by pass my def and att a system behind my outer 1s and they also att then change thier minds and try and jump away and get wooped. The bloody pirates are better than the AI we need emm being harder. They need to send big fleets that would be cool

i want to loose planets and have to fight to regain them cos that would be like a proper intergalactic war. Like chess sacrifice sertain things to gain others. like you could let umm attack you planet but send a fleet while thier fleet is occupied
