A Babylon 5 mod would be a great addition to SOASE. It is if not the most notable science fiction of all time. It broke preconceptions and ushered in a new era of science fiction and was inspiration for the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica series and many more.

It'd certainly be a nice Mod to have thats for sure. Is anyone or any group currently looking at making one for Sins?

The option to add more factions would have to be included for a project like this to really work.

To B5 mod, it's good that B5 have been done on many others games. Im sure that SoaSE will have this mod, but is hard to say how good this mod wil be done... Im trying to do shadows ships with their original "moving" hull textures. It's not fun but B5 mod where you have shadows with not a stacinar but moving texture on their ships will be first if I know. The question is if SoaSE could support that texture.

CBA to check 40+ pages of threads to see if anyone has made one, so I'll just bump this one and wait for a reply :)

I know that a group was atemting to make a B5 mod a few months ago but they gave it up because of the animation limitations in sins ( as well as other  coding limits). Id love to see somone start one though even without rotating sections and turets that move...

nice videos.  Tell the B5 team that stopped work to send everything to Danman at 7DS so it can live on.

Obviously

Obviously the problem of "rotating sections" has been sovled by looking at the second part of CanadaMan's youtube post.  I have been talking to the creator of that video who stated that he doesn't want to do it unless he had help, so I may be able to get him to come here on the forums if you guys would like...

Yeah he might do if you ask nicely, in the meantime you can read some background on how it was done here:

I also tried to get the Shadow texture to animate but I couldn't get it to work, what you can do though is up the glossiness level on a static texture which has a pleasing effect of reflecting diffuse starlight on the hull and gives it a shimmering organic feel. X3:Terran Conflict shows promise on the animated texture front there are examples of video screens on satellites playing a video feed in principle you might be able to apply that effect to the skin of a mesh.
