How about a Super Heavy Capital Ship (like the flagship But another model)

I think you have to realise that there are three races and each will have strengths and weaknesses, if you add this, you will make all three ships the same, unless you have to make one really super powerful over the other two, personally I don't think such a ship is really needed

you are right saying that, but it should be many diferences for each one such abilities:
one with lot of figthers and bombers, another with a supressing weapons,etc...

i already played the game, i think its interesting, but went are bottlenecks the cap.ships seem to be to unrealiable and the entire fleet can be wipe out by the defences.

I think that it will be more fun,seeing games like Homeworld have this super cruisers(heavy cruisers),(war cruiser),(dreadgnouths),etc
guess that will be fun.I really dont know.

I think it is a good idea to have a flagship symbolize your empire's power.

but matthewfarmery is right, we should make them different for each faction.
It has to do with stats as well as abilities, for exemple The Advents' flagship could have a weak armor however it can fire a psynoc wave which deals enormous damage.
The Traders coalition's flagship could have better defense and perhaps a missile barrage ability.

Overall I think it is a beautiful idea to have a huge ship guarded by capital ships rather than have only capital ships, it doesn't make sense, every navy needs it's flagship.

yea like a battlestar lol No that would be great have a limit on 1 and this could be the flag ship cos that should be your best ship and it should be unique that would cool. for advent maby u could have a ship that can take over 1 cap ship but only cap ships under lev 4 and only for a certain time for the tec just an uber battle ship or carrier and for vasari a super battle ship with like super shields and cool weps. or you could have the 3 ships same but diffrent skins or have 1 thats better at supporting then attacking 1 thats better at attacking and 1 thats good for defending

the idea has been recycled a ton of times under different guises (the only pseudo-original one was, of course, mine ) you werent the first, capital wont be the last.

the idea of experimental units always pleases me, although it shouldnt be similarly used in all races

finally: who says the defender has an advantage? the hell he does not! the defender has to contend with unknown conditions and has to dissipate his forces.

I was thinking more along the lines of a Super Stardestroyer and not the Galactica or Pegasus....

lol ok a ship like the mazar that hase those 3 big guns but like 2x as big and can shoot sips and planets with emm cos that would be cool like a marsa planet killer and it would have 10x hp of normal marsa and like 2x the shields and armour and its specail could be planet killer which makes any planet into a volcanic planet and makes astreoids into dead 1s but still be able to mine umm or maby its just a 1 shot and the planet has be conquered

but a giant huge uber-planet killer? How do you take one out? There has to be a drawback besides cost....and it can't be an exhaust port just two meters wide....
