Speeding up the end game..

So I looked to see if this had been addressed before, but I couldn't quite find it so my apologies if this is a repost.

Basically, is it possible to implement something where the AI might surrender when it's clear they're going down? When you have totally dominated two star systems, and are closing in on your AI opponents with a fleet that'll clearly crush them, it'd be nice to not have to go to the full lengths of tracking down those last colonized dead asteroids.

Great game so far, I can't remember when I was last drawn in so quickly.

I saw a dev talk about this -- its on the "to do" list, IIRC.

I agree uplift. Also this is the first game I have ever preordered! Well I would have preordered Spore but it is not out yet...

Yeah, I raised the very same problem/suggestion in a post I made earlier today and Blair confirmed that it's in the works.

Woot, just saw it. I hope they implement some of your other suggestions, too

I actually really like (aka hate) Galactic Civ II's way of dealing with one of the AI characters getting a beat-down: surrender to the enemy of the person who is beating you down. There has been many a game where I thought I was going to take candy from a baby but suddenly found all their planets belonged to the next bigger kid on the block (including all their resources and newfound planets at their disposal). A great way to quickly change the dynamics of the game (usually to your disadvantage).
