A few things that I have noticed..

Alright, so after playing a while, i have gotten together a few suggestions:
1. When meeting other players, we SHOULD NOT automatically be at war, this is really annoying meaning peace treaties can be very hard to get if I accidently let my forces kill a scout ship.
2. When proposed an agreement by someone, there seems to be no way to reject it, i think that right clicking should reject their proposal.
3. When I have a cease fire teaty, the AI tell me to "come out from the shadows and fight them" surely if we have a trade alliance, intelligence sharing, artifact sharing and cease fire, why would he want to fight with me?
4. Trade/ recurse ships should avoid going through places where there is no cease fire treay in effect, i'd rather have them take twice aslong to get to a certain planet than have them all shot down.
5. Can we not have pirates on every uninhabited planet? It's quite annoying, it'd be better for there to be a random cahnce of them being there.
6. Can we set unit behaviour? It'd be much better to have 3 simple options: agressive, defensive and passive. These may be in, but I haven't found them.
7. This is just a personal thing for me, but can we increase the crystal rate? It's used way too much for things considering how little crystal tehre is in comparison to the need of it.

Any ideas from these?

well I think the crystal rate is a lot better, holding and capturing ice worlds do help, and refineries also help, especailly with the log cap increase, so there is no reason not to have refineries now, but yeah they do seem to be a very used resource, saying that, I always seem to run out of money especailly early game more then crystals, and you can of course bye them from the blackmarket

but I have to agree on your others points

Yes, you can buy them off the blackmarket, but late in the game, I have seen it go as high as 2206 Credits for 110 crystal, so It's not particuarly worth it, is it?

no it isn't, there should be a bit more, but refineries are still your main friend

matthewfarmery, what do you mean by the log cap increase?

the logistics cap for your planets has been increased by 300% in that last big patch.

also, i think that crystal should be worth more on the black market than metal mehbeh just me but...

We are discussing this one internally. For me, it takes away from the sense of discovery. Every planet has been 'tainted' by pirates already. A rare untouched planet would have a really mean something. The downside of many uninhabited planets is the risk of constant colony rush, and fair distribution of these planets. There is likely a sweet spot somewhere inbetween. I am interested in more opinions on this one.

Well, I would like it.

Currently I have 2 colony ships per Kol, and the Kol always clears those planets faster, then the colony ships get antimatter to use their ability. I'm always low on credits in the beginning, since I use all my money on mines and planets improvements.

So, I don't think I could get really faster with colony rushing, since even if there were no pirates, I'd a hard time to get enough credits to finance it.

What I would like if some of the planets you discover would already be inhabited by a neutral player, i.e. the pirates. Would change the exploring part a bit, if you've to bomb the planet before you're able to colonize it.

And imho it would also be nice, if those dead asteroids weren't colonizeable. They don't give resources, tax, logistic points, only tactical points. It would be imho more fun if there were still some uninhabited areas besides the sun in the late game, and those dead asteroids would be perfect for that.

Seriously, i'm not asking for no pirates, I just think that the idea of having pirates in every uninhabited planet is a bit silly.
As i said, I think it should just be a rnadom amount, and it's preset at the start of a game.
Perhaps the user could define what percentage he'd like of having pirates on a planet.
I just feel that then, it'd be much more exciting if I send my colony ship in, and until that last second when the planet is revealed, I have no idea whether I'm in for a fight or no, and I think that it would really make me value the good times.

But does anyone have any ideas on my other suggestions?

This has been explained on another post by Blair or Yarlen or Some Dev.
Anyway they've done it with the wepons fire thing.
Wepons Range- would be passive, so only attack things in Range and dont move.
Local area- would be defensive, so chase for a bit then go back to your place.
Gravity well- would be aggressive, so attack anything you can see.

Hope this is clear.
if it isnt then......tough!

Whenever the AI gets a bounty, he spams that to all players -- because even he has no clue who's doing it. A kinda silly idea, but I expect that the dev's will get around to taking the general concept and making it something cool... someday...

YES. Factions should be at a ceasefire when they first encounter one another, and from the beginning of the game. It's up to the player (or the AI in this case) to determine which factions they should be engaging.
