Marauders Option Broken

Hopefully this hasn't been posted before. I searched for both "pirates" and "marauders" and didn't find it.

Anyway, the enable/disable marauders button when starting a new game doesn't work. Regardless of how it is set, you get marauders all over the place.

My apologies if this has been posted before.

when you disable the marauders, do you only see them around planets?
or literaly attacking your planets outright?

Marauders are large fleets actively attacking your planets, regular pirates orbit around all unexplored planets until you kill them

also, Marauders spawn at the star, if there are pirates spawning at your planets, then it's because someone else researched insurgency.

Oh, ok, yeah, they were the pirates that hang around planets. I didn't realize "marauders" referred specifically to the spawning ones. Thanks. An option to turn off the regular pirates in the full game would still be nice. They're not hard to deal with, they're just annoying.

The devs have been discussing whether pirates should be there around all planets from the start of the game. We'll have to wait and see what the next build brings.

A set of options like None/Rare/Occasional/Common/All would be reasonable. The could correspond to 0%/10%/33%/66%/100% of planets having them. Or just give the player the option to set a percentage directly.

This being an empire-building game, I'm very much in favor of a wide variety of options for universe creation.

I think having pirates guard planets initially is an important part of the colony rush. It requires some effort to expand

That's beta 3. The timing of the next beta 2 patch hasn't been announced yet.
