Tech tree bug for Capital Ship research

I don't know if this is a documented issue, but tonight I noticed that I was able to research "Capital Ship Construction" without the prerequisite of a point in "Enhanced damage control" . I did have a point or two in "Improved Superstructure".

But yes, the game let me research capital ships without the horizontal pre-req being fulfilled. Any one else noticed this?

Odd, I've never experienced that myself. Do you have a save where you have the tech without the needed prereqs?

Did you keep your save game, send it to Ironclad, they will try and re-produce the error.

Hmm... looking back I am questioning myself. I found an auto save within the series that didn't have it, and was unable to reproduce the bug. But then I noticed that on my monitor the green "1" really blends in with the icon for "Enhanced damage control" SO combined with being tired, I probably imagined it, but will play with it more later.

I cannot reproduce said bug. That is the first thing I research to Captial ships yards.

That is it really. Two research levels.

Then my fleet of capital ships "Doom Fleet" just whipes out the AI in the present state. Singleplayer of course.

A related issue is that you can cancel pre-reqs for quest up items -- E. G. you can cancel the enhanced damage control without canceling capital ship research. But it doesn't look like capitol ship research will continue like that.

Correct, if you lose the prereq after queueing something up it won't work. I believe in the next build it'll also continue on with the next one it can do, if more items are queued up after that one.

Cool! Personally, I'm wondering if somehow the OP did what I did, and somehow it didn't stop the research properly. Still, I wish you guys would stop taunting us with "next build" announcements
