Cutscenes?

yes another lore/story question

I know that SP will be a scenario type. However, 1. will there be cutscenes that outline the overall arc of the story? Or 2. is the singleplayer just a combination of battles nothing more. (I prefer 1 much more over 2).

Sins looks GREAT, I even get a friend into it. After I quit being a Star Wars and Homeworld geek, I need another space series to get all geeky over

If they haven't already planned cutsenes I doubt that they would put them in at this time. It is proper for there to be cutsenes between every scenario, however, doing them correctly would mean a substantial amount of time on their part. Good idea, but unless they really like the idea, they have them already started, or they move the release date for the game to a later time, I dont think they will have them  . (Though to my understanding the single player campain will not be just a bunch of battles one after the other, there at least will be a small section of time devoted to telling you the overall idea of the next scenario, which is next to the very minimum that is needed in a scenario campaign  .) If they do have full length, cutscenes with possibly the showing of battles in a cinematic view, and tell you the objectives of the upcoming scenario, then thats great   .

There will be an intro cutscene that sets the story for the game.

Some nice cutscene here and there like in HomeWorld will be nice. I know you guys don't want to copy or repeat what others have done in the past, but if you look at how they play on that particular game you will find out that it add to the inmerssion of the gamer into the hisoory and plot of the game itself.

cheers

I dont care if its a 10million or 1000$ intro, it all depends on the mood they put us in.
Like in Homeworld Cataclysm, it was just a few images with a GREAT story.
I loved when they found the artifact and took it onboard, and they tried to study it. But it was so dangerous, and when they found out it was, it already had taken half the ship. So they had to eject that part of the ship.
Some were explained with images and some of it ingame.

So ill trust Ironclad to make something equally as good, how ever they do it, as some of them worked on Homeworld Cataclysm

Actually Stardock is making it under Ironclad's direction.

So your saying that Stardock is making the intro from what Ironclad says?

id also like to add, that it doesnt matter if its fancy or not. HWC did well with just the image stile (like max pain). So ingame story stuff could be possible too, just in a cheaper and as good like those expensive movie scenes

So wait..... We are trusting Yarlen with the Intro?

GOD HELP US ALL!!!!!!

Well, many people are suggesting the cutscenes like the stills in Homeworld, but what about more alone the lines of "In-game" cutscenes? Like say, for one scenario, you have to help in a battle that has already started, so the cutscene includes fotage of battles, telling you to stay away from here (showing an immense battle taking place there), destroy these (planet siege ships are closing in towards a planet), and to repair this or that ship, while respectively showing those ships, and their areas. Also, there should be something that tells you exactly what you need to do (like in a taskbar or something). A bit like the "Objectives" in Homeworld.

I agree. But I wouldn't like the Homeworld style cutscenes. I prefer if the cutscenes had characters interacting with each other instead of just one giant detailed briefing. (Like in a FPS).
