Whats your favorite Book and movie of all Time??

Heya, i just read this kick-a** book called "Weapons of Choice" by John Birmingham, which is currently my favorite book of all time. i thought i'd just share it with you coz i want more ppl out there to read the trilogy coz it rox. in short, naval fleet from 2021 gets sent back in time by an accident to WW2, right into the middle of an American task force, heading to midway. pretty much, lots of shootin and a nukin until they see the stars and stripes on each other and stop. i love the differece in technology, and how the 1940's ppl react to jets/laptops/helicopters. anyway, Axis get some of the ships, figure out how to build nukes nd other stuff, also find out bout the alternate history nd make changes. really good read, with two more in the series. anyway, my fav movie isnt really a movie, its a series. the re-made Battlestar Galactica series, which when i first saw, took my breath away with graphics and battles. i like the idea of fighter battles, instead of the dogfighting-starwars look, more realistic movement and stuff. a little too dramatic though, but good story and great suspence. lawl, excuse the spelling. ok, enough o mine, whats ur fav book and movie???

I personally dont consider watching a book very stimulating or exciting, but I guess to each his own.

you should watch the big 3
Playboy
Penthouse
Hustler

Great books to watch! can be VERY stimulating and exciting!

Well those are technically magazines, and you do a lot more then just watch them, and its really more like ogling them.

Having just read weapons of choice, I have to say that its a decidedly sub-par series. The author is a good writer, but he jumps around too much. The time gaps between books is annoying, at best, and he frequently forgets to detail important events / concepts, such as Sanction 3 / Sanction 5. Sanction 4 ends up clearly spelled out, but you have to guess at 3 / 5, and given the important 5 at least plays at one point, thats bad.

And the way he frequently just doesn't bother with certain events, instead jumping straight to their consequences, just leaves you wondering if you missed something.

That said, he is a good author, with a nice sense of irony and the ability to make you think. An enjoyable series, even if I feel the technique could use (a lot of) work.

She/its amusing, but hardly a character in its/her own right.

yes i know... but computers never get any credit in stories anymore. nahh i reckong that koala in the 2nd book was the best character, having burnt to a crisp then gets shot by duffy. xD
