Interstellar Sublight Travel; Fleeing Fleets; Paused Fleets

Bugs found in a recent game

So I just finished a a game and thought I'd write up some of the bugs I encountered.

1) AI fleets traveling at sublight from planet to planet:

Twice that I saw in this last game, the AI ran from a planet by way of its sublight engines instead of its Phase drive. The AI's ships followed the phaseline to the planet that it was going to and eventually went to phasejump after I left the ships alone and lost sight of them. When I lost sight of the enemies ships they were about 1/2 way between the two planets using sublight engines only.

2) The AI still runs from a fight even at its homeworld/last world:

Speaks for itself

3) Pirate fleets occasionally sit at a grav well's edge.

At one point in my game, I thought I was going to lose half my cap ships which I had withdrawn to one of my planets to repair. I thought this because when I looked at the empire window it showed a full pirate raid in the system which I had somehow missed seeing. When I went to check on my ships I found the pirate raid chilling at the edge of the grav well doing nothing. I was able to destroy about half of them without losing anything except for a few bombers. I think that the pirates were stuck waiting for a formation to phasejump.

4) Computer announces "Scouting party under attack" when trade ships are attacked at an unowned planet. Computer announces "Fleet under attack" or "ship under attack" for a scout ship that is under attack.

Again, speaks for itself.

5) I also thought that I saw that the Devs said that the game would now notify us when our capships lost shields/had low hull. I don't think this is happening or if it is it isn't noticeable enough since I lost my flagship and I didn't even know that it was under heavy attack.

Anyways, thats everything I saw in my most recent game, If you made it this far, thanks for reading this long post.

Happened to me too twice.

Yep, still happens. And the AI is very slow in reinforcing worlds under attack, if it even attempts to do so.

Thats almost as much fun as having the "Enemy jumping in!" message whenever a pirate raid is imminent / launched. That said, I really do think this is more of a beta issue than anything else -- they haven't paid their voice actors to do all the voice acting they're going to need yet, and won't until they have the game in something approaching its final shape. So far all they've paid for (from what I can tell) is the stuff they'll 100% sure need in the final game.

Ron, i'm fine with the voices being the same for some things, but I was talking more about the text that pops up at the bottom of the screen. although the Scouting Party under attack" one is definitely linked to the wrong ship since it is a voice notification but it happens with trade ships instead of scouts.

it dose tell u shields are down i think a nice cool effect over the ship when shields go down would be cool like it flutters on and of then gose of or something like that. like star trek armada when shields generators go down cool blue things go round the ship whic i think is cool lol. and fighters go after cap ships and other ships insted of bomers. i think they go after cap ships if the ship that owns them is attacking that ship.

It seems the AI acts strange sometimes, in my current game I hold 2 solars systems out of five. Now the game has been going on for about 4 hours and it seems the AI was following the common routine of falling back, cause I had almost taken a 3rd system away from what I liked to call the Coallation of Unruely Planets, an allience between 3 of the five remaining empires. I was mostly done with that system so I sent my fleet ahead to the next system, however the system was different scenario. The Coallation actually put up a very good fight that made me retreat. The fight mostly happened around the start, as soon as a portalled in they had a force ready that was larger then mine and they did keep reinforcing it deligently through about 3 (15 minute) battles.
