Just curious what date it is being released on.
Also will the Serial number for the game be sent with a notice of beta 3? or will we have to wait until it goes GOLD.

i only hope beta 3 downloads faster than I downloaded beta 2....

I have a 3MB connection (looks at multianna *evil eyes*)

And I was only getting speeds around 100kb/s

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but beta 3 is going to be multiplayer , right? If so, will beta 3 only be multiplayer or will it still have a single player mode?

Thanks! I have a friend who wants to get this game, but isn't a big fan on online multiplayer (the fact that he has no practice on this game may have something to do with it). Think the Kol may be redesigned by then? I hope that it isn't changed too much. Also, has anyone heard when we will be able to download the fansite kit that was promised a while ago?

Just so ya know (not that you care), so that I will be preped for beta 3 I went and upgraded my system today.

Bought a 19" flat screen to replace the 15" Dell monster that I have had for 7 years.
Bought 2 1gig ram to replace the 512 and 256 chips in the system.
bought 256meg video card to replace the 128meg card i was using.

I am now ready to play!

I want my beta 3 (sung to the tune of I want my mtv)

The multiplayer better be good!

... FYI, the video memory of the card is nowhere near as important as most people think. I can think of a half-dozen 256MB cards that would fail to play this game. Most of them still being pushed by places like CompUSA and Best Buy as "great gaming cards". Take, for example, the FX5000 line -- which is still on shelves everywhere, and is the openly acknowledged screwup of the Nvidia lineup.

True oh so very true, but ithas made a major performance difference while playing the game. I now can play with Higest textures as opposed to medium and no more transparent planets! I can ooohhh and aahhhh like the rest of ya now!

btw I bought a e-GeForce 6200 up froma readion 9250

I have not installed the memory yet, I wanted to see what the difference was with just the card first.

Not a huge improvement. A definite improvement, sure, but not as big as you could have gotten. If your on a PCI bus, that is as good as you could hope for, but I'd hope you actually have an AGP slot, in which case far better cards would have been available.

Oh well, too late now.

Thanks Ron, It will not be off the shelf, I have never owned an off the shelf computer, (other than a trs 80). I either have it built or in the last 10 years I build it myself after doing lots of last minute reasearch..!

I have many a story about thier stupidity, my school is all dells, they freeze more often than antartica




I was at the DMV office, and here is the conversation

DMV -"yea, we just got this new computer,"
me- "I see it is a dell, I hate dells, they are crap"
DMV- "The government would never buy us bad computers ,"
me- "sure, whatever"

few minuets later....

DMV- "this is strange, it just froze, it has never froze before"

I don't even answer, I just stare thoughtfully at the window thinking "no Realy!???, it isn't like it's a Dell or anything,"
