I wonder if anyone knows how long it will take those of us who pre-ordered at the close of beta 2 to get the confirmation email. A day, two days, next Monday etc.

The post-beta-2 preorders are being processed now. It usually takes some time to get through them all, though.

As far as I know, the serial should be in the order confirmation... At least, it was when I ordered the game just before the end of the beta 2 signup period...

Questions,

I pre-ordered Sins earlier this week and was wondering how getting the Beta 3 worked? Will I get an email with a CD key in it? When I do get it How will I start to download it? Will I start downloading it from Stardock Central or will there be a link in the email?

Question:

If I pre-order today will I still get access to Beta 3 or will I have to wait until the next round?

Is there a way to d\l it before we get the e-mail via SDC?

go to stardock central, go to games section under sins of a solar empire game uninstall your beta2 check all in the box to remove all mentioned in the box. then install beta3 fresh and then after installation double left click and play on.

Once your pre-order has been successfully charged, you'll get an email with your serial number. You'll use that to download the beta through Stardock Central. Just make sure you have "Show pre-release versions" checked.

Are we able to download the client from SDC without needing the auth key? That way at least if it takes a while those of us who preordered after Beta 2 will be able to download the client and jump in right away.

Edit: Oops, Warderin beat me to it while I was making my post. Didn't mean to echo!

Well, according to the post on the main-site:

Gamers who pre-order before September 26th will gain immediate access to Sins of a Solar Empire Beta 3

My theory is they are taking each transaction and printing it off. Then they walk over to one of those old credit card machines, type the number in... Then they hear it dial into the credit card place. A few minutes later they get a response back, either: "Accepted" or "Please upgrade your credit machine". Then they walk over to their computer and manually type the e-mail, enter a new key and then send it.

I estimate this takes about 6 minutes per order...
